How you became a fan of My Little Pony

I heard talk of a new incarnation of My Little Pony that was of such quality as to attract fans outside its intended demographic, started watching it on Netflix when I had nothing better to do, and got hooked.

I didn't pay much attention to the fandom while the show was actually airing, but recently I've found myself drawn in for reasons I can't comprehend. Plus I've just gotten into the comic, and I'm looking forward to seeing what kinds of things they do now that they're fully free from the show's status quo.
