gaming Did you like to change colours/contrast on CRT Tv to make the game look good as a kid?

Was a special time back then to do that! With HDR i have a feeling they are learning that mistake that HDMI did with lack of colour variation! 4K TVs seems to do what new technology and doing best of old technology!

nope, cause the default was excellent

i have to do that with flat panels now though to get them to be of any use

I always liked having it as bright and colourful as I could.

I have a few CRTs and I really do love fine tuning them to get that perfect picture, the experience is relaxing.

As a kid - not that much, except on B&W TVs - there I would adjust brightness and contrast frequently.

Not for games though - I used a console for a very short time, most games I played were on a PC and still are - I do not use a console.

I do not adjust colors on my monitor though - I set it so that gray is gray (and not tinted) and that's it.

Everything was fine on my end. Didn't have to change a thing.

I never changed any of the display options on the TV, because I didn't know how to do that when I was a kid.
