With the recent G5 news, are you excited or worried about the upcoming movie/show?

I just looked up some stuff about the next movie's animators, it does seem to be the same as Pony Life's animator, Boulder Media.

 Somehow my expectations got even lower.

edit: the movie, not g5, not sure if those are the same

double edit: they also animated rainbow roadtrip apparently? My hopes have raised slightly

As for the news of G5 I am uncertain. G4 is already good, though I wonder how they'll handle G5 considering G4 ended? New characters and universe?

 Haven't finished G4 due to time constraints and quite frankly losing interest, so don't know how G4 ended either. But the news of a new series have made me interested in the show once more. Wonder if I should do a marathon from the start or from where I left off..

Same universe, same world - Equestria. But another characters with diversity and inclusiveness of course. Policy in child cartoon. Why not? Oh, almost forget about easter eggs on G4.

lmao. Hasbro wasn't bought, and probably never will. They too rich. The only who can buy Hasbro I think it's Disney, and become a monopolist in the children's content market, but this sometime in future. In 2019 Hasbro buy сanadian holding Entertainment One, and got at their disposal some cartoon characters as Peppa Pig, PJ Masks, Ricky Zoom and others. So maybe in furture we will see MLP, Transformers and Peppa Pig in one story.

About Pony Life. That piece of.... cartoon was made by Hasbro, H-A-S-B-R-O, only for distributing merch. That's the fact. But G5 is will be made by eOne as main studio, as I understand.

Of course judging with the end of the G4 show and basically everything else made. I have zero faith.

I haven't watched anything related with G5. It is often the case that something like an image or a picture can give me a general impression of the given subject. I would like to determine its worth without intuitive cognition getting in the way.

I wish I could agree with you on that one, but we have seen plenty of franchises that have not only capitulated to the demands of the obstreperous minority but have doubled down on it when challenged.  Don't underestimate the influence that a few people in the right places with the right reach can wield.

The reason Ripley is so beloved to this day is because they didn't need to make a big issue out of her being a woman, she was a genuinely engaging character that they let speak for herself without having to resort to "If you don't like her then you're an istophobe".  She was simply one character among a small mixed group that felt natural, like they had been working together in close confines for a long time, she wasn't a Mary-Sue and more importantly she didn't rely on the characters around her being denigrated in order to elevate her status by comparison.  If Alien was remade today I'm sure the outrage mob would have plenty to say about it but I don't think anyone would be calling it woke garbage.

Not entirely related, but I'll add this here anyway.  The Alien franchise (including AvP) has a long history of female leads, and one thing I find endlessly infuriating is when, even before a new film has been released, the lead character is inevitably compared to Ellen Ripley by the media.  This is unfair to everyone and everything involved.  It's unfair to the original film, to Ripley herself and Sigourney Weaver, the new film and most of all it's unfair to the actress playing the new character because they are attempting to compare her to an absolute cultural icon which, let's be honest, is a comparison she will never be able to live up to.

This. Speaking as just another MLP fan, I really have no idea why people are getting so bent out of shape about something that hasn't even happened yet. We know next to nothing about the show/movie, other than what's been told in, like, one plot synopsis. People on the internet are way to quick to judge these days. I understand that we all just want what's right for this franchise, but can we tone the drama and the infighting down a notch? At least until G5 actually releases?

Haven't had great pony in a while. Season 8 and 9 were a mixed bag of great, good, meh, and awful. Equestria Girls also lost some steam and ended anticlimactically. The mlp manga ended up becoming a fanfiction, and the last comics before season 10 also just became stale. pony life was also pretty bad. (haven't read season 10 comics yet tho I do own them) 

 I more on the wait and see cuz I will check it out, FIM imo has overstayed its welcome. "Longer isn't always better." 

I feel that the show might just become a reference and easter egg fest that won't be able to stand on its own. And even then, what else is there left to say? Can anything really still be exciting? Sure it can be good, but truly exciting or something that gets the heart strings tugged. I highly doubt. 

Will have an opened mind but yea just doubting.
