“A chew-chew train!” Global beamed.

She hoped the meaning of the joke could get across since she was saying it rather than writing it. A student had told her the joke before and she had been confused until he told her the meaning. She shook her head, trying not to think about her students.

Pinkie snickered and tried to stifle a giggle, but a gentle one came out anyway. Perhaps it was working a little, for Pinkie began to stir a little on Global's back, but still, she was sad, and the smile faded into a faint one. Maybe another one could do the trick...

The joke appeared to have lightened Pinkie’s mood a little. Global figured she might as well tell another one. After a moment of thinking, she came up with something she thought the pink mare would like.

“Okay, I got another one for you? Where do fish keep their money?” she asked.

Pinkie thought about this one. "I have a feeling it has to do something with sand dollars..." Pinkie said snickering. Celestia's spirit let out a soft chuckle. Maybe she was onto something about the joke?

“Close, but not quite!” Global exclaimed. “They keep their money...in a riverbank!”

At this joke, Global let out a little chuckle. It was silly to laugh at one’s own joke, but she had to admit to herself that this one was funny.

"Oh yeah! I should've known that..." Pinkie said giggling again. It seemed that Pinkie was just about there. She then suddenly thought of a joke. "Ooh! I got one! What do you call a vehicle full of musicians?" She asked.

Joking had gotten Pinkie in such a good mood that she was coming up with jokes of her own. Wonderful! Responding to Pinkie’s joke, Global asked,

“I don’t know Pinkie, what do you call it?”

"A bandwagon!" Pinkie said regaining her strength, gently getting off of Global's back. She then zipped away and one second later, was back with some sort of vehicle with horns and other instruments. It seems like this vehicle would get them to Canterlot, or what was left of it, faster.

Global laughed at the joke, finding it both clever and quite humorous. She was about to comment on Pinkie’s joke, but before she knew it, the pink mare had dashed away. She was about to call out to her, but just as quickly as she left, she returned. En tow was a literal bandwagon, filled completely with various instruments. The instruments didn’t seem to have a particle use, but the wagon itself sure did!

“Yahoo! This is awesome, Pinkie! This’ll be so much better than trotting!” she cheered as she made her way inside of the wagon.

Fluttershy and Pinkie made their way into the wagon. Of course, Pinkie was driving it. She took off towards Canterlot castle and arrived there within 20 seconds. "Oh yea! New record!" Pinkie cheered. Fluttershy sighed. Fluttershy could use an animal friend just about now...but where to find one?

Global couldn’t believe it. The wagon was so fast that it only took twenty seconds to arrive at Canterlot! That was way faster than her motorcycle ever was. Perhaps she should invest in a wagon like this...

She looked over at Fluttershy who appeared to be very lonely despite having a couple of companions around. In a hushed voice, she asked,

“What’s wrong, Fluttershy?”

Fluttershy sniffled. "I miss my animal friends..." She said starting to sob softly. Fluttershy could use a hug right now, and if they restored Celestia, Celestia could try and restore some of the animal spirits.

Fluttershy looked like she was in need of a hug, so Global kindly offered her one. She wished she could find the ashes of her animal friends. However, with how many animals there were in Equestria, she knew pursuing that right now would be very unrealistic. However, she did know that locating Celestia’s ashes would not take too long.

“Your Highness, do you have any sort of clue as to where your ashes might be?” she asked the princess.

Fluttershy ended up sobbing into Global's fur, her tears soaking some areas. Fluttershy wanted to get on Global's back. Pinkie sort of dashed away and came back with a pile of ashes. "Could these be it?" She asked. Celestia's spirit stirred. "Well done Pinkie." She said as Celestia's spirit reformed into the regal alicorn Princess herself. "We still have lots to go..." Celestia said with a sad sigh, looking around.

Global held Fluttershy close as tears fell on her light red fur. When the pegasus mare’s eyes were dried out, she gave Global a look that suggested that she wanted a piggyback ride of her own. Global rubbed her back to get the kinks out before she bent down and let Fluttershy on.

She smiled as the Princess was quickly restored. She winked at Pinkie to tell her she did a good job. She then looked back to the princess, who was still understandably sullen.

“You’re right, Your Highness, we have a lot more to do. Where would you like to start?” she asked, returning her focus to the task ahead.

Fluttershy gently got on Global's back. "There are plenty of options. Let's head back to Ponyville and restore Twilight...this way, there will be two of us Princesses, and we ought to...restore my sister...Luna...I just...hope she...hasn't fallen into...darkness..." Celestia said choking up at the last part, a stray tear falling from her eyes.

Global nodded, then looked up at the Princess as she began to tear up. She could understand how difficult it would be to see Luna give in to her darker self again. She didn’t want that for her or her sister. Despite the fact that Celestia wanted to resurrect Twilight first, she felt it would be more beneficial to save Luna before it was too late.

“Your Highness, s-shouldn’t we try to save Luna first? It would be easier to get to her if she was in Canterlot and it would be better to get to her before she does something she’ll regret,” Global offered.

"I can't sense her anywhere. We would have to...travel to the...everfree forest..." Celestia said. Fluttershy quivered and gulped. "Therefore, restoring my sister is the best choice. I will lead this one Global. If my sister is nearing darkness, she could enter your mind and worse...corrupt it..." Celestia said with a sigh.

Global felt vibrations on her back as Fluttershy began to quiver. She became fearful as well and gulped. It was one thing to be taken over by a saddened soul, but to be corrupted by an evil soul sounded worse than anything she could imagine. In spite of this, she put on a brave face and allowed Celestia to lead the way.

“Your Highness, we will do our best to bring back your sister,” she promised.

"We will have to leave the bandwagon for now Pinkie. It is best to put it somewhere safe." Celestia said. Pinkie thought. She zipped away with the bandwagon and parked it in her secret place in what was Ponyville. She came back one second later. "Alrighty, ready." She chimed. "Alright, here we go." Celestia said gathering some magic power and teleporting them right at the entrance of the Everfree.

Global blinked in bewilderment. Pinkie could run that fast across landmarks the entire time? She could’ve taken everypony to Canterlot herself if she wanted. Of course, there was no guaranteeing she could have carried anypony.

She shook her head to clear her thoughts as the princess formulated a spell. She was preparing to have the group teleported to the Everfree Forest. Again, another easy solution that would have saved much more time then the bandwagon did. If everypony wasn’t grieving so hard, Global would have asked a lot of questions.

"Now...keep your guard up. Spirits who roam in the everfree could've fallen into insanity already because they couldn't find their way out. We must tread with caution...in fact..." Celestia stopped. She made protection pendants appear. "These pendants will guard your mind from sneaky spirits who may try to get into your mind." Celestia said making a pendant for everyone. She put hers around her neck and so did the others.

Global held her breath in anticipation but quickly released it when Celestia created a protective pendant for everypony. Now there was no need to worry about mind invasion. She silently thanked the princess before she continued to walk into the forest with Fluttershy still resting on her back.

Celestia led the way once she noticed everyone was ready. She lit her horn to light the way. "Somewhere, in the everfree lies an artifact that has been buried for ages. They say that it restores the spirits of most living things, but for some reason, it doesn't work on ponies..." Celestia said. Fluttershy's ears perked up.

Global’s eye lit up. If she could find this artifact, then she could restore all of the animals who were lost. She knew Fluttershy would appreciate that. Speaking of Fluttershy, she was probably the most capable of finding said artifact.

“Fluttershy, you have an advanced sense for all things animals, right? Do you think your skills would help is locate the artifact?” she asked the pegasus.
