I think three seasons would be good and five would be great if their story needed the extra time to develop.

not sure about the whole of G5 but the Netflix opening is gonna be pretty strong for MLP among the intended audience I think. There's loads of competition though... so I'm not really sure. I've been doing my bit though, raving about it to my sis' kids. Hopefully there's two more fans :3
