When I'm playing wrestling games, "stamina" means "Stand still so I may hurt you, Sparklefan.".   Very annoying.

Level grinding. We can make games long enough now that it's not necessary to pad it out with endless levelling to avoid being one hit by every boss.

Invisible walls and objects that "block" your way. Make it somewhat realistic, not "oh, there's a fallen tree on the road, but I can't just jump over it".

Enemies waves. It's just not funny

"Arena" gameplay where you just kill all enemies in one place, move to another and then repeat

I agree with the whole lives/continues thing, though I guess I can see why they'd want that in an extra hard mode of a game if someone felt masochistic enough.

Agree with the QTE and grinding complaints as well.

I love monster hunter GU to death but flexing after healing feels terrible. They got rid of it one generation too late.

I don't really consider any game mechanics to be "outdated". I love a variety of games, and I've ran into no game mechanics that would make me want to say that they are outdated.
