Could a Spin-off series about Starlight Glimmer work?

I don't know if this is a rumor or a confirmed fact, but I read a lot of times over a supposedly cancelled Starlight spinoff that would have taken place instead of her episodes in season 6. That's why she never had an episode with the CMCs, because they were saving that for her show, so, do you guys think an Starlight spinoff could have worked?

I am personally glad that Friendship is Magic was only one series because many times a franchise looses track of characters and stories when they have to juggle them between multiple series. Not saying that it wouldn't have worked but I'm just grateful for what we got.

Not so sure if this rumor could have been true. The situation with Equestria Girls and Pony Life, as well as all the YouTube mini series, I am not sure it would have worked without cancelling FIM. And we needed FIM (especially Season 7).

 

Starlight isn't strong as a main character. I'd rather have Sunset Shimmer than Starlight.

Starlight Glimmer and Trixie could travel Equestria putting on shows, while secretly keeping an eye on the CMC as they try to help blank flanks find their path in life. More often than not, Trixie would cause the problems they have to unravel.

I think there would be at least a big potential of being a great show after the ending of FiM. The Relation between Starlight, Trixie and so many other characters could develop and get the time they never had in FiM

I mean, Legend of Everfree and Equestria Girls are pretty much just Starlight Glimmer being human. It's basically a spin-off using starlight glimmer as a main character.

I think considering how the show ended up I think it couldn't have worked. 

Things started to lose quality, starting getting stale. And Starlight is in ponyville so like nothing special could really happen.

HOWEVER!!!!

Let's say in season 7 Celestial Advice, the series opener, when Twilight is thinking of sending Starlight somewhere and she actually sends her somewhere, 

Ooooooor!

In "Road to Friendship" if later they decided to travel together again and try it out then that could have worked and show is them figuring out their feelings for a each other and they fall in love etc. 

But again, considering the show was losing quality, maybe something like this could have reignited something by being unique! Or you know would've also just ended being lackluster.

There was no such thing. There were plans however on having her and her own group of friends replace the mane 6 at the end of S6 that thankfully got rejected(whether they would have been the same ones she had in the show are dubious)

In that case, I'm glad that was scrapped. I love Starlight Glimmer (One of my favorite characters in the series), but I wouldn't have wanted any of the Mane Six getting replaced.

I heard there were plans of Starlight having a spin-off by replacing the Main Six with new characters, but (thankfully) it quickly got scrapped. It really blows my mind that Josh Haber thought it was a good idea.

To answer your question, no. I never liked Starlight, so having her own spinoff just never works.

It might work. I'd love to see her continue to spread friendship and I'd also love to see her full past - the events that took place after she lost Sunburst and before the mane six came to her village.
