Hello there, lovely ponies!

Sometimes, we're not happy with our mane color or our style. Maybe you made a mistake with potions and shifted your color a hue that no longer pleases you. You're invited to relax and sit on the chair, review a magazine of the styles you'd like to have as we work on self care and re-designing the new you!

(This is for those who don't have a pony OC and would like to have one! OR people with old pony OCs who desperately want advice on a re-design. Feel free to reply below to express what you'd like, art references, aesthetics, etc.

Pony types 

Earth Ponies - no wings, no horn, very creative way for finding ways to make these things happen regardless! Think of Pinkie Pie!
Pegasus - Capable of flight. Sitting on clouds but that is also optional. Some personalities might not even like that despite being Pegasi
Unicorn - Capable of magic -- or perhaps struggling with it. Regardless of whatever kind of pony you have -- remember that personality is what makes the pony and not vice verse. We tend to be more than just our physical bodies, so if this is your first time creating an OC -- I would recommend thinking of the personality first and then considering how her (or his) design might reflect this in their expressive ways!

But that's not obligated. My own OC was created with me just mixing all of my favorite colors into one giant splat of a mix and going "yep, this is fine." Hahaha but she's come along over the time. So I guess my point is, there's no WRONG way to do this. Just mainly guidelines and suggestions. In the end, it's all about you and what you feel properly expresses you! So feel free to step into Silky's Beauty Spa for a new OC or a new re-design.

This thread was in the making for quite a while but I kept postponing due to real life matters. But that's not excuse to keep you waiting! So, I'm making the thread so long as you're patient and understand I may not be as active as I'd like to be but I will get back to it as soon as I can <3 Please be patient with me.

This thread will be RP based as well as OOC for social interaction to inspire art as well as creativity.

I have two characters I haven't really talked to anyone about in a long time. This is Peoria Turve. These were two characters that were given to me in a free adoption thing that happened on the forums around a year or so ago.

 

And this is Delilah



Delilah Dusk's talent lies in alchemy and potion making - despite being an Earth Pony, she has nothing to do with plants or flowers. It's more of gathering minerals and mixtures to make potions with. While Peoria Turve is a Unicorn, her talent is wind - something more or less related to Pegasus magic. 

Just looking for ideas, or someone to draw them in a more unique way - so they look more of something unique to me rather than something made from a base? 

I am thinking for Delilah and Peoria, that they are two best friends. However, I'm going to add a twist to the story and say that they are from the subterranean world of Melagartha, that dwells within the planet itself. Where they come from, it is much like an Eternal Twilight within those caves. Deep inside the planet, there are a system of caves and areas that open up to form an entire world of its own, many hundreds of miles wide. With strange trees, fungal forests, and surreal landscapes underneath the luminous green atmosphere. They come from a town known as Kelosia, in Kelosia it is ruled by a Mayor of sorts who also doubles as a Wizard type character, like Starswirl.

They are travelers that visit across various towns, exchanging their talents and doing things to earn money. Down there, there is no way to tell time without a clock as there are no days or nights, it is always the same, and the weather is the same. I imagine in some areas, the caves are so big you'd think you are on the surface, but there are others that make their reality more apparent. The ponies here, are an offshoot of an exploratory group that discovered the caves many, many thousand years ago and they got lost, and eventually created a stable population of ponies down in the underworld, to the point where they lost their history, and vague references of it are made in the form of mythology. Their homeland in the under world is known as St. Barnard's land, there are other kingdoms down in there as well. Pegasi here don't exist, only Earth ponies and Unicorns. 

This is the best image I have to show what the forests look like in my idea with Delilah and Peoria. There are trees of sorts but they are...different, not like normal trees, no, they just simply grow slowly based on the mana sources around. Magical trees. There is a sort of luminous, green air that flows throughout the area. No sun, no moon, the sky itself is the light that illuminates things. No shadows. The 'main' area is like a massive opening that is at least a solid 100 miles in size, with the occasional pillars and collapses of stone holding the whole thing up, at least 6 miles deep so you'd be able to stand there and look up at the 'sky' but you'd only see the top part if you squint hard enough.

There are many different caves that branch off into who knows where with all sorts of ecosystems, horrors and treasures waiting to be found. And the most interesting bit is, there are whole societies down here who have lived down here for centuries, this is all they know. Even small lakes, and seas with their own varieties of fish and serpents. There is a place everyone knows, the bottomless pits just outside the border on one of the sides of the cave. 

The underworld they dwell in looks something like this here, in a forested area.

Oooooh, Props! Hi! These ponies are so adorable and I love them! I absolutely adore the hauntingly beautiful forest -- and as you know I quite relate to the venture of pursuing these things in the name of alchemy! I will certainly get back to you on this.

I've been shown this thread by @Princess Silky. I don't have an OC of any sort, just a name and a species.

I know only one artist aside from Princess Silky, and I don't think he does ponies.

I have no references, as my character was created last night.

I would much prefer to discuss this matter in a client like Discord, which I plan on doing with Princess Silky whenever she gets back online.

There's my post...I hope I didn't screw it up too badly. I'm a writer, not an artist...

I have a deep affinity for an early 2000s CGI anime character named Neko zombie

and i have a few Pony town OC designs that are inspired around him.

 

 

 

 

Coco is an earth pony that resides in the realm of dreams in his mind, his head is in the clouds but his heart is grounded.

He is a very empathic pony that has a hard time hiding the nature of his pain despite his care for the well being of others.

Like Neko Zombie, his character represents a heart that's been torn and sewn back together, he represents the stubborn nature

of the heart that refuses change after being hurt. He has an easier time helping others fulfill there own happiness then to

be able to realize his own propensity to create his own suffering. Buuuuuut-  He is also a wild silly goose that likes dressing up

as a golden buddha, it his alter ego that he uses to spread the wisdom and positive joy that he feels, and dreams up in his mind,

He also hosts edgy cyber goth dance offs under local highway bridges and lives as a wanderer, traveling by bus with his imaginary

guitar, he also try's funding his Dojo Casino dreams by offering Air guitar etiquette seminars and cha cha lessons to mixed results.

Lol mood whiplash! He a serious, silly, caring pony. 

 

I am hoping to get some feedback on his design and how to further evolve him, maybe in the center of his body in particular to distinguish him more away

from the neko zombie influences. I have really grown on to this character and would like to establish a non pony town illustration of him one day.

Yes! Cloud Crash needs sort of an update if you will, she's HEAVILY based on Rainbow dash, so her mane could maybe be reminiscent of her?  

her cutie mark is a raincloud with rain and a lightning bolt

Her colors

Mane and tail: electric blue, pink, purple, magenta

Coat: black

Cutie Mark: Blue (raindrops) white (cloud) and yellow (lightning bolt) 

Hooves: magenta 

Wing tips: same as her mane and tail

What is your favorite color? *she'd smile* In fact, what are three favorite colors of yours.. *she hands you a palette* feel free to add them here. *she gently places them back on the table*

Now! One more thing. Who are you? What is your personality, lovely? What are 5 ways to describe yourself as a pony? *clearly she was referring to your OC -- but explaining that would break the immersion now would it*? 

Feel free to relax. Take your time and contemplate these questions! Based on your answers, an image will appear in the reflection, you will be the one to decide if this is the image you'd like to keep.

Three colors huh? I like Silver! I was actually thinking about my name for Shiny Silvermoon! I know it's possible to but I don't know how! Oh! Yes! Three colors! I got lost in my mind! Um so silver, white and blue... Just like my cutie mark concept!

Describing myself is quite hard since some times I'm highly depressive and some times I'm just making silly jokes. But what never changes is my empathy! It's a big part of me! I also love to make people laugh! It brings a smile to my face! But I can also be serious when I need to! Feel free to tell me if you need more infos!

(Also, can I be a unicorn? I've always dreamed to be able to do magic!)

White coat (to honor the white of the moon) Silver cutie mark (as shown here) the icy blue of your cutie mark to go on your eyes and silver hair to balance your cutie mark with some icy blue streaks. What do you say, lovely? *the mirror begins to show her the reflection of what Silky had just described, but there were SO many potion bottles for Shiny to consume to change her hair, tail, eyes, etc.
