Dandelions AI music challenge

Yes, yes CelestiAlicorn is also known as Dandelion, if you visited my profile, then ya know. If not then in short, I'm Dandelion Ass a musical donkey, and well that's about it for now, so let's get started with the challenge.

AI has basically exploded in recent months. We get stories, art and even music. Now the completely musically untalented can have music created, usually quite bad, without a little help. But still music, fantastic!

So come on, make music and upload it to Pony.fm Link or embed here in the thread, and we'll see how much fun we can have together. Can you make pony music? Or do you prefer something more conventional, you choose. All contributions are welcome, beginners are especially welcome, or yes everypony skilled or not.

You do know that your login is part of Poniverse?

-So you have access to Pony.fm already.

I start up with a "teaser" and tell you how I did it, stay tuned ponies YAAY! ...now trots off towards the AI musical world.

Just like the TV chef, I have prepared in advance *lol*

Here is my AI take on Cupcace Song,  Season 1 suitable perhaps to start with?

I used AI Boomy, and it was free to use, I haven't checked if download was allowed for free. Guess what? I never care about that, as long as you can listen to the song you can always record the sound. I use Audacity and it can record all audio you can hear on the computer, so no problems with paying for stupid AIs you only want to test out a bit for fun.

If you need help, just ask and I try to help you.

So let's see if we can embed pony.fm here : - sorry I don't get embedding to work :sealed: Remember I'm an Ass, so it's not so easy *rofl*

This was fun! So I made one more silly song with Boomy.

This is from the section in Winter Wrap Up, where Rarity builds birds nests with Twi. (Voice Audio track extracted with Audacity)

"Twilight finds Animal Team member and official nest designer Rarity outside the Carousel Boutique, just as she finishes her first nest. Rarity explains that she is nest-weaving for the birds being guided back from the south. Twilight tries her hoof at it, but the one she makes is messy. Twilight leaves to find another line of work while Rarity tries to fix Twilight's nest."

I don't know what kind of genre this might be? Spoken word? Or just spooky world? No idea, let's call it audio art.

I wanted to take a try at this, though I took a different approach. I used AI to assist me rather than do everything for me.

It's a little DNB tune.

All of the AI stuff that was used (other stuff used are listed on the track listing along with these):

  • DDSP Synth
  • SessionLoops DrumNet
  • Sonible smartComp2
  • Izotope Ozone 9
  • Izotope Neoverb

It was pretty cool actually. DDSP while not perfect, with a little bit of processing it can sound good in context of a mixdown.

DrumNet is really cool, surprised it let me ignore the login prompt and use it that way as it's still functional without logging in or making an account. Plus, it generated a drum sound that I love, but you'd have to guess what that is :P Can't export any of the created drums within Drumnet, but I can literally just play it through the piano roll and then export it that way and save it, so paying for it isn't really a big deal. didn't use the built-in sequencer though so I can't say anything about that.

SmartComp2 is pretty cool, quite useful and visual actually while giving lots of in-depth information and functionality to adjust parameters.

Ozone of course is a known gem with their mastering assistant. Can even just drag in your favorite songs and it will try and copy the sound of that onto your own song, nuts! But still offers lots of flexibility for parameters.

Neoverb is a little newer but it has Ozone's mastering assistant but for reverbs. Sounds pretty nice!

I might do this again in the future!
