It has been an age and a half since I've made a serious post on the forums, but it's good to be back :D (You can blame @Ice Princess Silky  of course!). At any rate, I have been blessed with the honor of introducing this week's SOTW @Batbrony

Librarian and Loremaster:
Part of what makes Poniverse, including MLP Forums, Canterlot Avenue, Pony.fm and our other services special is our mascots. Batbrony is one of our longest standing ponies still on staff today and is practically our librarian as far as lore goes. It seems (and actually has been!) an eternity ago that we ran our last fanfic contest to add to our expansive Poniverse fanfics, but without the work done by Batbrony and those that came before we wouldn't be what we are today! I appreciate all he did to make the transitionary period when we took on both Ponyville Live! and Canterlot Avenue to help incorporate them into the existing body of work.

MLP Content Reviewer:
He's not just well versed in our lore though, and if you visit his profile some of his most prominent posts on the forums are his episode reviews of various MLP content and he offers insightful things for lots of legacy content!

Staffer Legends Time!
They say that he was born with the Batman suit.

We sincerely thank him for helping us be who we are today, and while life has kept him busy as of late with his career as a teacher along with learning how to be a dad we'll never forget his contributions and hope he'll have time sometime to come see us more often.

Remember to always keep doing what you love man!

Wow! Gonna be shouting out from an OG to a TRUE OG! :-P I haven't consistently poked my nose around here in forever but it's great to know this guy's been giving the same amount of love and energy to this community as he has 10+ years ago when I joined, feels like an eternity ago! Many many great memories in the early fandom...

Much love like old times, Bats! :derp: Thank you for doing your part helping this community thrive like I remember you always have! 🩶💛

Gosh, you guyssssssssssssssss!!! *sigh* Honestly, I couldn't ask for a better fandom community to still belong to, and as far as the brony fandom goes, MLP Forums and Poniverse has always been my fandom "home". Even with life's craziness, I need to put in more effort to still be more active around here, both because I still have so many wonderful, old friends here, to see what new ones I may be able to make, and just to do whatever I can to contribute to this amazing pony community and, of course, spread the magic of friendship. I love you wonderful fillies and gentlecolts, now and always, and this honor is both incredibly appreciated and unexpected.

Hey, @Batbrony! It's always good to see old faces, but if there was ever someone deserving of recognition for all your work, it's most certainly you! :)

Your presence is one of the earliest memories I have with the forums and my own staff tenure (how could one miss Poniverse's resident Derp Knight?), especially the weekly gatherings to watch the latest FiM adventure. I would always anticipate your in-depth analysis of each adventure, and I keep remembering going back to watch the episode again just to comb over it more thoroughly alongside your posts. Who needed YouTube reviewers?! :ButtercupLaugh:

But even beyond the forums, you've always been a wonderful guy to know and a great voice of clarity and honesty. I can't quite recall, but did I see you at the 2019 BronyCon? I know there was quite a large group of us from the Poniverse around for that one, but it may have been the previous year you were at.

In any case, I can appreciate that being a teacher is occupying much of your life nowadays (solidarity, brother! :scoots:), but it's nice to see you still find time to do what you've always loved. May it travel with you ever onward!

All the best, and God bless to you.

Thank you so much for the kind words, Dark Horse! I don't think I was at the 2019 BronyCon, I was at I believe the 2016 BronyCon (the only one I ever got to go to, and to date the only pony con I've ever been to) which was I think one of the first times the Poniverse staff had a panel at one of those cons. I can't remember if you were there, I do know a fair number of staff were there.

Good to know you're a teacher as well, big time solidarity there. But honestly what gives me even less time is chasing around a two-year old filly like my whirlwind of a daughter! :mlp_icwudt: She is quite the spitfire, and it "concerns" my wife and I that in the little she's watched MLP, she already seems to gravitate towards Pinkie Pie the most!

I live in SW Michigan, so these days the most likely pony con I'd have the ability to get to would either be Ponyville Ciderfest in Milwaukee (which has been on my bucket list for a long time) or Whinny City in Chicago (IDK if they're still doing that one or not, I listed Ciderfest first since, even though Milwaukee is slightly further away, it'd probably be the cheaper trip for us). But hey, hanging out with everypony here is always a perfectly wonderful option as well, when time allows it. Love you all and thank you all again!

Congrats, @Batbrony! I don’t think I’ve ever spotted you around here before, but it all makes sense now. Every time someone says, “Look, it’s Batbrony,” I turn around and—you’ve already vanished!

There are special ways to get his attention. One of those ways includes the special batpony signal in the skies!

I definitely wasn't at the 2016 event, although I do remember seeing a video up of that panel on YouTube, I think? That might've been BABScon rather than Brony. In any case, 2019 was my only Stateside convention.

I literally only started teaching undergrads earlier this year, so it hasn't quite "settled in" yet. There's just been a lot of workload rather abruptly to get things moving. At least I can't say it lacks excitement! :ButtercupLaugh: I don't have a young 'un of my own, but frankly I think things are busy enough for the time being without that extra responsibility just yet. Perhaps down the line when things get boring again. I'm sure your little filly is a bundle of joy, Pinkie influences aside. :Daydreaming:

I always intended to do more cons in the States before the pandemic put that on hold. Would love to do one of the remaining ponycons if a good opportunity arose, although the east coast is always easier to manage. There's just only so much time to try and fit things in.

You know, I may not be a superhero. Yet. But, if you need a lawyer if the government tries to go against you. Come to me. My door is non-existent, meaning you can always enter.
