School's Back In Session!

Hey, everypony!

I hope everyone's been having a wonderful September, so far!

I've been really busy welcoming in our new students and making sure everyone's been doing okay with the new school term. :fluttershy:

This honestly reminds me of when Twilight first opened up the School of Friendship.

The many new students, be it Pony, Dragon, Changeling and so many in between entering the school. :squee:

It was both nervous and exciting in the hopes that we could help pass on the magic of friendship to all creatures and even our next generation.

I even recall when I started off as the school's Guidance Counselor. :coco:

Being able to help students with their problems and being their for others was truly a wonderful feeling.

Eventually, Twilight offered the position as headmare. While I was unsure and nervous at first, I felt that I found where I belonged. :kindness:

Being able to guide my students, while also having Sunburst and Trixie by my side, I felt like the leader I truly could become.

In a way, it's a part of the many memories that truly mean a lot to me. :rarity:

I admit that I have a rough start when I thought I lost my friend because of a cutie mark.

With a help of a friend, however, I learned that there was always another way. :)

It was because of that friend that I was able to make many more friends. I even reconnected with Sunburst and we've been close ever since.

To me, it's a special memory that I always look back on and cherish dearly. :Rara:

Which is why I want to present the question over to those that are reading this.

Do you have a special memory when you were in school? A special friend that you got to meet and became close with? A favorite class or teacher that you learned from? Even a lesson from a teacher that you hold dear that you take with you after graduating? :izzy-oooh:

Even a dream career you've had. Did you have a dream job that you'd like to be when growing up? Are you still pursuing it, or has it changed over time?

However, talking about this is not the only thing I'd like to ask of those reading this. There's something else that I think would be a great idea! :pinkie:

Whether you're still in grade school or in college, or have graduated. I want everyone to also respond with a lesson for other users to read. Not what they have learned, but for something to teach others. It can be tutorials or specific know how's, be it your hobbies or general life hacks.

This way, you can be both a teacher to teach other readers, while also being a student and learning from your other teachers in this thread. :eager:

Those that participate in this shall receive a badge!

I look forward to hearing everypony's stories and lessons and advice for others to read and to learn! :D

Here's to a continuous and wonderful Fall season! ^_^

Thank you, headmare.

Hello, little fellas! Here's a lesson from Crypty Scribbles. Always write down your dreams and creative ideas.

Ideas are appearing in your head all the time but fading away quickly and getting forgotten if you do nothing with them. That's sad because there's brilliants among them. Some ideas came to you too early when you have not enough resources to implement them, some require additional development and study, some are useless by themselves but great in combination with other ideas.

Plant them in your garden of ideas, reread and develop them. And gather ones which are ripe enough to cook some real plans from it!

I assure you you'll be pleased with with juice and new colours it can bring to yor life!

Happy September everypony!

Honestly don't remember too much from school, never really made a best friend, guess the closest too best friend(s) i had was in the first school i was. i certainly got along with others, but none i ever would consider a good friend. At one point there was one i was considering a best friend, unfortunalty turned out he just used me and i was too blinded. guess a lesson learned from that, not everyone acting as a friend, is a friend.

6th grade, science class, I meet this kid who moved in from Florida. We both didn't really know each other at the time, but once we got a 100 on a group project, we started to hang out more. 5 years later and this kid's been my best friend for at least 4 of them.

I was homeschooled growing up, and I... don't have too many good memories of that, but once I got to college, I started to grow and bloom a lot!

My favorite college memory was once, for a religion class I was taking, I had to go to a church of a religion I'd never practiced before, and attend a service there. I had never done something like that before, and my mom tried to get me to apply for a "religion exemption" so I wouldn't have to, but I wanted to. I had been experimenting with myself and my beliefs for a few years, and it was time to become my own person, away from her and my dad.

I chose a beautiful Buddhist temple about 40 minutes away, and went to my first non-christian service. The building was amazing, the pillars, the carvings, the doors covered in details and animals, and when I went in, every wall was covered in hand made dolls, representing every era of Buddhism and all the important figures in the religion. They were so well made and intricate, I asked if I could buy one (I thought they  were for sale, like as a way for the temple to make money) but the lady laughed and told me the dolls were each very important to them, and they wouldn't give up any of them for any amount of money.

The service I attended was so kind and sweet, and it was the first time I'd ever felt loved at a religious event. The monk was gentle, and made everyone feel cared for, and had a kind smile on his face the whole time, nothing like the angry, hateful speeches I was used to at my old church. I had been struggling with religion for years at that point, I had lost my faith a couple years before and I was almost ready to call the whole "spirituality" thing off, but that day, attending a service because of a college class I had to take, I realized that religion wasn't just one thing, it's an expression, and I re-opened my mind to the other side again.

I interviewed the leader of the church, not the monk, but another person, and we talked for over an hour, and he answered so many of my questions, and really made me feel like he wanted me to learn, instead of like he was trying to defend himself.

I ended up getting an A on that assignment, and the teacher ended up showing it in front of the whole class as an example, It really made me feel proud.

I'm not a Buddhist these days, I'm more of a polythiest witch, but I do still hold a lot of those beliefs I learned that day I went to the temple.

My advice, my lesson for others to read and learn, is to never assume something is only one way just because of your experiences with it. Religion, beliefs, gender, self expression, love, even mundane things like the best way to fold clothes, never assume what you learned is the only way, always be willing to review yourself and the things around you, and remain open to change.

I was homeschooled so I don't really have to say about school, but I went to a university once I graduated from high school.

Anyways, I have a lesson to teach everyone! As you all might have figured out by now, I'm a gamer, so naturally I would teach about gaming! The golden rule of gaming is to not have a golden rule of gaming because gold isn't a durable material in Minecraft! Rather, you would want a Netherrite rule, and note that I didn't choose diamond because a common fallacy is to assume diamond is the best material when in fact it's not! But having a netherrite rule, or a rule of any kind, would destroy the very purpose of gaming itself - to have fun.

Also Mojang is WRONG, the number one rule of Minecraft is allegedly to never dig straight down but it is misleading! You can in fact dig straight down without consequence because all you need is full netherrite armor (to fight off the enemies should you fall into a cave), a feather falling IV enchantment on any piece of that armor (to significantly reduce fall damage), a potion of fire resistance (for anti-lava purposes), and a golden apple (for an emergency if you manage to get half health with the previously mentioned items). Ok so that's kinda alot to ask for, but it negates the potentially negative impacts of digging straight down and therefore makes the number one rule of Minecraft to be misleading! You can disobey it without worry if you have those items!

Now I have plenty of lessons to teach here about gaming since I'm a former PvP player and currently serving in the PvE branch of gaming, but I'll spare everyone the wall of text and it's difficult to generalize lessons without specifying specific games and making a bunch of other complications. So I end this here, happy gaming fellow MLP fans!

I've been out of school for like, 3 years now and I never realized until now how much I really miss it. Not much for the whole learning stuff because as an autistic kid it was NOT great but the whole social aspect of having a place to socialize with people my age. It is SO hard to make friends as an adult. :(

I have no good memories from school. All I remember is the daily bullying that was directed at me. I only have good memories from technical school. My classmates at technical school are the best. At technical school I found a friend, or rather he found me. He is a bit like me, we both do Street Workout and watch a very interesting channel on YouTube. I have a lot of good memories from technical school, I don't know which ones to tell you.  If you want to know about these memories, you can ask me.

About my dream job. I don't have a dream job. I've never dreamed of any job. I've always wanted to go live in the forest. And I will do it. Before that, I want to become a web developer because I like programming. BUT it's not my dream job. I love freedom and I don't want to live in a state. I want to be a hermit in the forest.

Here's a lesson from me. I used to be a pessimistic realist and I was constantly thinking about bad things that could happen to me. It got to the point that when I woke up in the morning, I wanted to cry, but I had no tears. I realized that this couldn't go on any longer and I decided to change my thinking. Now I'm an optimistic realist and I feel better. I don't think about bad things anymore and it helps me.

I think I could tell you a few more lessons but I don't know what else to tell you.

I have the same issues with being a "pessimistic realist" but literally every method i've used to try and not be one anymore hasn't worked. Would like to know how you got out of that.

I didn't get out of it completely. Sometimes I get caught up in pessimistic realism again. I've had that recently. I just try not to think about the bad and think about the good things sometimes. It might be hard at first but it should get better with time.

I need to study more information about how to change my thinking, maybe I can find some method that will help better. The method that I use now I came up with myself.
