'What If' Concept | My Little Pony: The Movie in Concert

Although it’s an extremely unlikely idea for Hasbro to consider, this conceptual poster is an example of what if the 2017 My Little Pony movie would make a comeback for a live orchestral concert.

Before you start typing, we get it. Most G4 fans would prefer attending a concert of suites from the G4 series rather than the movie, considering that it was one of the post-Emoji Movie films that failed to make its money back from its expected opening day weekend gross of $10-17 million, and left many fans and critics some disappointing results. But despite the film’s lack of prominence nowadays following the G4 series’ conclusion, it’s hard to deny that an average kids film based on a once popular kids show should bring the MLP community together for something that (while not 100% guaranteed) should give the film the exceptional value it deserves.

And much in the vein of other popular films that occasionally earned those treatments (i.e. Ghostbusters, The Polar Express, Fantasia, etc.), the film's soundtrack and score would be performed by a live orchestra and choir, with the film projected on a large screen in front. The one requirement for it to work however, is to include the deleted opening song "Equestria", since that fits the majestic tone of what it originally established, unlike the dated "We Got The Beat" cover the execs at Lionsgate demanded for the theatrical version.

As for the artwork, it took me almost a week to draw not just the flat lineart for Spike, but also the look of the rim lighting and shading. Not to mention that it also took 4-5 days to finalize the masking on some screenshots for the CG filmstrip, the background and the title graphic.
