What are your fave songs about the Mane 6?  

Or... at least top 10 (because fave is toooo hard!)

Mine:

Pinkie 

Those who know me, know Pinkie's my fave. She's a chaotic, fun pony and I found this song around the same time I found electro-swing as a genre (it is awesome) and it was a big part of drawing me into the fandom. I will always associate bronies with this song.

Fluttershy 

This song is about one of my favourite Fluttershy episodes, and it is by a composer I love whether it is pony or not (which is very unusual!). The tender power of this pony nets her a lot of fans and some amazing fan music, but who does tender power like the Aviators?

Twilight 

This pony was my first mane pony preference, long before I settled on Pinkie. She's a wonderful protagonist who drew me into the world of pony through the wonderfulness that is FiM. And my favourite song for her is a remix of one of the best songs in the show, by the strangely obscure artist And The Rainfall (and ofc the OG is by ultimate musical kahuna, Daniel Ingram)

Rainbow Dash 

Rainbow Dash is the sharp extroverted edge to the nerdy cutesiness of the show, and she has some of the best songs that peer into her depths. She's not my favourite pony, but she is one of my favourite subjects of pony songs. I could go with so many, but I'll settle for a recent one.

Rarity 

Rarity is the most cross-gen of the ponies. Tabitha St Germain, her voice actor, added so much to Gen 3, and if you love this character then I strongly suggest that you check out G3. My hoofness, if she isn't one of the stars of G4 too, though. This pony, not Pinkie, is the one to watch for the best jokes. However, like her Gen 3 portrayals, Rarity lacks a lot of the depth of the other chars, which has left her lacking in the fandom love department. IMO songs are no exception to this, but there are still some fabulous ones. My pick is a total cheat, as the artist does amazing songs about all the Mane 6, but the one about Rarity is particularly good.

Applejack 

Applejack episodes are my consistent favourites of the series, because they frequently cover the topic of family and childhood, which are topics I love to cover in my own writing. I have a big sis' and a momma whom I associate with this strong, feminine, figure. Applejack and Dashie are Faust's legacy to pony, but Applejack is the perfection of Bonnie Zacherle's ideal, while Dashie subverts it, and I much prefer AJ to Dashie as a character as a result. Anyhoof, my favourite song about this pony is inevitably a tear jerker... individuals may pass, but families never die.

Are we limited to fan songs? Because I tend to think of official songs first. 
I like to think there are a set of songs from the show that ultimately become character songs; as in songs that can be taken out of context to reflect what these characters are all about.

By far my favourite song for Twilight (including both fan and show songs) is "You'll Play Your Part "

 

For Diamond Tiara: Light of Your Cutie Mark, unfortunately the song is not on Spotify for some reason, so I can only listen to it on Youtube. I loved thes song, but I wish she didn't have to be reformed, I really liked having occassional episodes around her in conflict with the CMCs with the over-the-top bratty mean-girl schtick (and the silly cartoon logic where she, a foal, randomly gets to hold serious power without any oversight - like in the Foal Free Press episode)
