The cold was not helping Starbolt concentrate on flying, she put out a heat spell to reduce the cold.

"Sure is cold." She said towards nopony in particular.

She continued to fly trying to pick up her pace.

"Yes, twenty-six kills and will probably rise up before all of this ends," Carrick looked up. The mountain was in full view. The mountain was tremendous. The light snow became fierce. It has become to vastly harder to see. At least for Carrick. All in his vision was white. The soft chill form his body became intense. His body in a slight shiver. "I'm not sure if it's just me, but I think it's time for to land." Carrick said.

"Yes I agree I don't feel confident enough to fly in this kind of weather." Said Starbolt eager to get back on solid ground.

'Everypony in the group must be so frustrated that I fly so slow.' She thought.

"I suppose walking here would have been faster.." said Daeva as she flew straight down and continued traveling by foot. As she landed her hooves fell into a deep layer of snow so she flew back right up.

 

"Damn that's cold, I'll be flying in the skies instead of walking."

Thunder flew down and sat Trixie down and flew back up next to Daeva. "You awen't afwaid of a wittwe snow awe you," he teased before throwing a snowball in her face and bursting out laughing.

Daeva was offended, she flew back down, created a huge snowball and bucked it straight at Thunder.

 

"I said it was cold." said Daeva as she flew up really high in the skies.

 

She didn't know if that was appropriate but if she doesn't let out the anger something bad might happen, though after doing that it made her feel better.

Carrick gave a sigh, "Daeva, Thunder. Stop acting like kids. It isn't exactly a good idea to do a snowball fight in the middle of a snowstorm" Carrick shook his head, as he landed down. "I shouldn't have to be taking care of both of you." Carrick said more to himself. He didn't feel exactly comfortable where he was, he felt that this part will collapse at any minute. He slowly walked off the part of the mountain to find more stable grounds.

"Hey everypony, I think I spot a path over there." said Daeva as she landed on a solid piece of land.

 

"I wonder where this road leads to, maybe something I wouldn't want to find out any time soon." she added.

"Hey, Trixie" Carrick called Trixie out.

 

"Is there something you want, Carrick?"

 

"Yeah, have you seen this path before?" Trixie nodded.

 

Carrick looked at the path infront of him. Though his vision was obscure by the snow, he was still able to see a wooden path that was built. He could feel the wooden underneath his hooves. "Looks like we're on the right track, let's keep moving." Carrick said as he ventured in the path.

 

The path slowly went uphill. Vision of anything far away were still being covered the snow. Carrick started to get annoyed by it. He didn't know what would be encounter in this house. A slight chill came passed through his body. "I'm not used to this at all." Carrick said with a slight chiver.

Ponyborn had been flying behind the group to make sure that no pony got stuck in the blizzard. He saw what looked like a light in the distance but he didnt tell anypony just in case it was just his mind playing tricks on him, he decided he would tell some pony if it was getting closer and or brighter. And as they went along the path, the light did both. So he flew down next to Carrick.

 

"Hay Carrick i think i see a light up ahead it could be a house or a campfire, should we go check it out?" He asked

"Wait, Ponyborn how did you get back?" Carrick was a bit confused. He remember that Ponyborn wasn't in the train. He didn't think too much of it at the time as he was in a weaken state of mind.

 

"I put a note on the treehouse." Trixie replied.

 

"Trixie, that wasn't exactly the best idea. We don't know who is a good pony or a bad pony."

 

Trixie scuffled at him, "Trixie didn't think it was fair that we leave without him." Carrick was surprised that she remember Ponyborn. Funny, pretty sure if I told her what conversation we had yesterday, I don't think she would of made that note or even talk to him. C'est la vie, I guess.

 

"Regardless, let's just move on." Carrick went back on pace. Slowly the light emerged in his sights as well. As the vision became clear, it didn't seem like a campfire or a house. There was a pony.

 

Dressed in a black robe, just like the one in the train. He stood up on two legs. "Carrick Murphy, a surprising development. I might add." It was hard to describe the voice of the robed pony. The voice sounded like a robot, unable to establish a gender. "oh, and you brought your friends as well." The pony went back down on four hooves.

 

"Indeed, stranger. We're just here to passing by, to get some clues and all."

 

"Hm. Heed my words well, travelers. This is the point, the point of no return. If you continue to the path that you are, you-"

 

"As much fun as it is listening to the dangers of what happened. I'm taking the risk. We've gotten this far, why back down now."

 

The pony shrugged, "Very well." The pony's horn started to glow as the snow began to go even harder...

"GAH what the heck! this stuff is stinging! we need to get out from the open." Ponyborn said to Carrick pointing to a small cave just big enough for the group to hide in if they huddled together. Ponyborn tried to fly but he was pushed down hard by the force of the wind and the snow.

"Who in the hay does he think he is to cast a huge snowstorm on us?!" said Daeva as she flew over and bucked the black robed pony.

 

She turned around and took the robe off but all she found was a thin layer of dust and nothing else, it's like it disappeared.

 

"Now that's weird.." she whispered.

Starbolt felt the cold wind become stronger around them. She increased the size of her heat spell to encompass the party.

"We need to find shelter Carrick". She said as she continued to focus on her spell.

"You like the trick?" the voice came behind Daeva. "you should be careful on what you do against me." The pony was still in his hood. An illusion trick as the robe that Daeva had slowly disappeared. "and for the record, I'm a girl." Her horn started to glow again as the chill increase vastly around Daeva.

 

"Damn it, Daeva." Carrick said as she went in head first, "I can't see anything here." Starbolt suggested to retreat. "As much as I would love to, we got a reckless pony going out there. We get her than we go." Carrick rushed in after her...

"This is probably a very bad idea but im on your six Carrick!" Cried Ponyborn trying to be heard over the sound of the wind. It felt to him that the longer they stayed in the snow the harder it came down. He also felt that it was only a matter of time before they were all trapped under at least 10 feet of snow or more.

"I'm telling you to stop your fancy magic, I am a lot more dangerous than you think." she replied as she told her to stop it and back off before anypony gets hurt.

 

"This isn't going to end well if you don't stop now." said Daeva as she started to get annoyed by her spell.

Starbolt saw they wanted to go after Daeva. She closed her eyes and concentrated. She imagined a desert, the hot sands the deadly heat and the barren wasteland around it. She projected this out as a spell and the temperature around her started to increase, she felt the snow at her feet melting. She expanded the spell towards Daeva's general direction.

Laughter came upon the robbed figure, "Oh, you're strong right? You mean the fact that you have demon powers?" The figure couldn't stop her laughter. "That's cute, you think you're special. That you have blood that comes from a demon."

 

"You don't understand the restriction of your demon powers do you? I guess most never demon ponies don't, but I guess I'll give you a hint." The horn started to shine even more brightly. "Why do you think demons don't live up in the mountains?" A simple question. Though Starbolt's magic seemed to conflict some, The pony seemed to have direct more of her magic around Daeva.

Carrick's vision seemed to clear up, Starbolt magic spell help vastly. "Ponyborn, distract that pony. I got to get Daeva before she does something we all regret." Carrick went and saw the vision of Daeva in his eyes. He went for a tackle as he screamed "You idiot!"

Daeva was knocked out of the spell from Carrick's brave act of kindness, but she didn't feel as confident after hearing what that robed bastard said.

 

"I don't know why demons don't live in the mountain and I don't care, I'll destroy you if it's the last thing I do!" she screamed back as she became extremely mad at her, her heart was starting to beat faster and faster by the seconds and her eyes turned purple..

 

Daeva tried to direct all of her power towards the direction of the robed pony and released it, the blast went flying straight at her and the next thing you know it penetrated the whole mountain behind it.

 

Daeva was plum tuckered out and fell on the floor.

 

"Leave me here if you must, Carrick.." she said before she blacked out.

"Oh boy~" The robe figure quickly used a ice shield spell though, it wasn't enough. I need to channel the wait... The pony placed the shield in a different angle as the blast went and penetrated the mountain below her. "That surprising, even under this weather you can still channel strong energy. Pity that-" A quick hook came from Carrick.

 

"Shut up, ya annoying pony." Carrick said, adrenaline pumping as he punched at her. Pony took the punch and staggered a bit. She didn't except she a strong hook from just a normal earth pony. "An impressive team. However..." her breathing quicken, that blast from Daeva took a big chuck of energy out of her. "pity that we'll have to finish this later..."

 

"Oh no, you-" The pony disappeared under the snowy weather. "Damn..." Carrick shook his head, this crazy stupid stuff is contagious. Carrick heard Daeva's words to leave her. He picked her up under his back, "Idiot, I didn't just go full commando for nothing." Carrick went and took placed her on his back to the cave where the others were.

 

He place her softly on the cave. "Look I found a demon pony, can we keep it?" Carrick sounded like a colt who wanted to keep a dog that he found in a alleyway.

Daeva wasn't in good shape, her power reserves went down after firing that beam.

 

She felt as if she's breaking down from the inside but she knew it wasn't time to die yet.

 

"I.. I don't feel so well.." she muttered as she ran out of breath.
