@Cynic: The 17-inch 1920x1200 30-bit display on my laptop is already worth $600 alone, and the pixels on it are small enough to be indistinguishable any further than 40-50 cm from the screen. The screen looks as pristine as an iPhone 4 (better, actually, because it also displays 64x as many colours) unless you put your face right up to it. What would increasing the resolution further accomplish?
