Have You Ever Turned Anyone Into a Brony?

Miss Dash.

I don't try to convert others. For me (and sorry if I'm being negative) its kind of forceful.

Look I'm okay if someone comes up to me and says

"Hey what are you watching?"

And I explain it to them and if they want to see it and they like it then fine.

But I don't go around telling people to watch this show.

That's my opinion

On that note

No I havn't converted anyone to Bronies

Have I shown it to people who are curious?

Yes

Howeve they are okay with it, just arn't interested in the fandom.

That's okay I know some bronies in my area so if I want to talk to bronies there they are.

I did not convert, but I did explain to a girl at work what bronies were. She asked me what they were and explained that her friend said that all bronies were, were fat, pedophiles who make porn. I told her that all bronies were were people who enjoy the cartoon and enjoy the characters. She is now checking the show out herself.

I haven't converted non, however I'm a closet brony still, so thats no real surprise. :P.

However I don't think I really believe in full out "converting" people. The most I'd say is if they aren't aware of the show then maybe if they're a friend make sure they are aware of the shows exsistance, if they seem not to repulsive maybe refer an episode to them maybe.

However If I'm putting much of any more then a tiny tiny bit of effort into it, then I consider it to be converting and to forceful.

Plus normally if they're not liking the show that much when you first show it to them, chances are trying to make them watch it more will only make them dislike it.

However letting them become aware is sometimes necessary, then eventually if they're like me curiosity kicks in and they'll atleast try the show.

Shoving it down their throats or something is totally unnecessary though, and probably won't help for much.

The only person I have converted is my boyfriend. He pretty much started watching the show after he kept hearing me and his best friend talk about MLP all the time. He had a crush on me, and since my love of ponies was pretty clear, it seemed like a safe subject to start a conversation on.  Anyway, then he got hooked for realsies and became a brony. :B

I haven't converted anypony, but somepony converted me.

My cousin. In case you want to know the full story, read my profile. You know, paragraph #5 or 6, I can't remember, it's somewhere there. But it's too long to post here :P

I converted one person.  However, I don't think it technically counts because she's a six year old girl.

I have, however, opened my friends' minds up to the possibilities of the show.

I haven't converted anyone I don't plan to either I'd rather let them look at the show if they wanted to. But two of my best friends now know I like the show so hopefully they will check it out :)

Great now, I feel like we are a religion. tongue.png  Sorry but that word of "convert" seemed a bit funny to me.

Well my best friend thought that show is good and he liked it, but the problem is he doesn't know English very well and well, he is not much into it. Is it a convert now? I don't know, it doesn't seem like. We watched an episode together once and he even listened to balloon party. Still listens sometimes though. But well, he is not a brony. Only if he knew English...

None. but that is because I dont believe in "converting" anybody into anything I mention the show if they react negatively towards it I leave it at that. I think forcing people to try it is just as bad as those people that show up at your door and ask for a moment to "talk about god".

I have only converted one brony, and that was my brother. He's got an account here, but he doesn't come on often...

None of my other siblings have any interest whatsoever, so I just leave them be.

I think I've nearly converted my mother though. :D

I haven't converted anybody, because I don't want to sound like a preachy desperate salesman, and I'll leave them to discover the show on their own.  It's their choice to watch the show or not, I don't want to force them into it.

You know, I had to revisit the topic to look at more responses, and I'm noticing that now a lot of folks are agreeing that you shouldn't force down people's throats. That's cool.

But at the same time, the past few days people have been trying to force video games and other shows on me, especially World of Warcraft. My friends talk about it everyday and try to get me to play it... I told them yesterday that I'd play it, but I don't think they realized what day it was!

*Takes a puff on pipe*

Regardless, as long as all of you folks agree that any kind of shoving of something down other people's throats is annoying, then we're all squared away. Although I must agree that "convert", conversion", and "converting" are odd words to use when discussing turning others into Bronies.

*Puts on pink occultist robe with balloon symbols all over it*

Very odd indeed.

I've converted my mother but that's it. I haven't shown my brother an episode yet, nor my father. But I will soon.

I'm pretty sure they'd both like it, them liking Faust's other shows and whatnot. :)

  • 1 month later...

I'm not sure if this warrants a thread, but something happened to me recently that I thought some of you might appreciate.

So I just got done skyping my little sister today. Apparently after introducing her to the Rainbow Factory song, I have gotten her addicted to it and she listens to it nonstop. That, and she played it for her entire class at school. She says a lot of the boys in her class asked her what the song was called so that they could look it up.

I'm not sure, but I may have just indirectly created an army of tiny bronies.

On a related note, my mom teased me about corrupting her with such a horrible song about ponies dying.

I said, "Did you know that actually there are a lot of guys who watch My Little Pony?"

"Yes!" she said, "I've seen a ton of them wearing pony shirts!"

...I am sad that I'm overseas and missing out on all of this. happy.png

Excellent work, Hazel...

Now, we must organize this newly-created army of Bronies and use them to take over the school district! And after that, the World!

...

Or, you know, we could just enjoy this funny little story. Either options works for me.

*Smiles coyly*

But seriously, that's a pretty awesome story, and it certainly doesn't surprise me that a lot of folks liked that Rainbow Factory song, I honestly enjoy it as well.

I guess there are a lot of miracles that can happen in just a matter of time. A very awesome story deserves a very awesome celebration, ponies can influence a lot of people to do many wonderful things. :P
