Xievie 498 July 30, 2012 Share July 30, 2012 Well, I just realized something. Scootaloo seems to not be able to fly, correct? At a young, yet much older age, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy were in Flight Camp, correct? Fluttershy being very very weak at flying. Twilight also was just a filly, but had trouble with magic, until she finally got it, which took much study. She had trouble even doing telekinesis. Also haven't seen Sweetie Belle even ATTEMPT magic. Now, look at the Baby Cakes again. One easily flies, just a month old. I saw no trouble for them to do so. Then the other casts telekinetic spells on toys with much ease too. Even breaks a lock open with ease. Could the Baby Cakes be extremely gifted? "Real life is just a crappy game." I know it wasn't crystal clear on the pegasi but It's obvious anyway. pinkiefan1287 610 July 30, 2012 Share July 30, 2012 (edited) I was going to do this. Well might as well say what I think. Anyway I think that Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake are indeed prodigies. First lets look at Pound Cake. Pound Cake is a young pegasus that has shown 2 power already. His first power was not his flying, but his super strength. He was able to bang on his table and send a bowl into the air, break a bath room faust, and when he started flying Pound was able to still fly while Pinkie Pie was holding him down. From what I can guesses is that, Pound is able to fly because his super strength power is being used in his wings. So from that I think he well be able to fly for a very long time. Now think about this. Rainbow Dash said, "That once Pound get's his wings going, he well be all over the place." Rainbow Dash said nothing about him losing his power to fly or say anything about it being a serge. Also lets look at Pinkie Pie when she saw Pound Cake flying. Now Pinkie Pie has said, that she loves playing with babies, so that means she has played with all the different types of ponies to. When she saw Pound Cake flying on the ceiling she looked shocked and surprised. This shows that Pinkie has never once seen a baby pegasus fly only after 1 mouth. Now lets look at Pumpkin Cake. I know everyone has been saying that Rarity said, "Unicorns have sudden magic surges that come and go." Now let me ask you this, what is a magic surge for a unicorn? When I heard this I thought it would be little things, like toys flying around the room and she would not be able to control it, or teleporting to random spots. But that did not happen, Pumpkin was in full control of her powers. Pumpkin Cake was able to teleport out of her crib, fly all of her toys and her self in the air, pass threw walls, and break a lock. Now you think a unicorn this young, would be afraid of these powers. Pumpkin was able to control it as if it was something she know how to do everyday like walking or breathing. Twilight even explains in the episode feeling pinkie keen, how magic works. Now maybe Pound Cake well lose his flying when if his wings grow in an odd way and maybe Pumpkin well have harder times controlling her magic, but I still think that Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake are prodigies! The flashbacks I saw always seemed like they were in the middle of the school year or something. Scootlaloo probably had no flight experience yet. The baby cakes are much younger than Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo. Rarity stated in the beginning of the episode that newborns tend to have their magic and wings go all over the place, and they can't control it. Both of them must of passed that phase. Right, point taken. Plus most of the time it looked like they had to fly to get to a certain part of the school. Your right, but I always thought the school was to teach anypony to fly better, or just fly period. Kind of like teaching them how to use their wings. Everyone thinks that Pound and Pumpkin are just going to forget all of this, I think that is the one problem with people. Everyone thinks of the babes are just like human babies, but they aren't. Pound and Pumpkin have already shown many different signs that they are intelligent. They are able to walk with only in a month, (even thou real baby horses can start walking with in a few hours). Are able to make sound and former words, show emotions like what makes them happy, sad, frustrated, and they even feel guilt. The one big thing that shows that they are intelligent is that they know who their parents are. Now a normal baby to me would take at least several mouths to determine who their parents are, mainly just a baby would not know that stuff yet. When Mr. and Mrs. Cake left the store to cater the party Pound and Pumpkin started to cry, showing that both babies know who their parents are. DiscordianBeats 28 August 3, 2012 Share August 3, 2012 Well in the begging we hear that "Baby unicorns have strange magic surges that come and go" (Rarity) So Pumpkin has a bit of an explanation, but by the term surge: A sudden powerful forward or upward movement, esp. by a crowd or by a natural force such as the tide I'd think it would go away faster than it did, but then again perhaps it was a long surge. But she could cast telekinetic spells like nothing, (even enough to give herself fight) So It shows she could concentrate it, but then again, that could just be part of the surge. Pound cake, on the other hand, has his strength, and amazing flying (enough wing power to lift pinkie off the ground, and fly around the whole house with her attached) Now It would seem his wings could be developed enough to lift his weight now, but later on would lead to issues, causing him to have to learn the basics of flight in order to do it again. I do not know if "Gifted" is the word, but we don't really get to know how other baby Pegasi work, or how fast they learn to fly...so I don't know 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
