What do you think the Mane 6 will do after the series?

The entire cast will retire to ToonTown and occasionally perform in off Broadway shows.

Twilight will be the only visible one and she will end up being the spokespony for an anti-glue factory campaign.

 

Luna and Celestia will work for NASA, sending men and material to the moon.

Spike will grow up into a gigantic dragon, he will run for Governor of California and win.

Depends on what the series finale is like really. But in addition to their normal lives, here's what I think...

 

Twilight probably will serve next to Celestia, and... become royal? Who knows...

 

Rainbow Dash will join the Wonderbolts, and will spend some of her time to perform at shows, and have the time of her life.

 

Fluttershy... Umm... I can't say really. Maybe she will probably get over her shyness? She might become more sociable.

 

Applejack can perfect her Apple Bucking skills, and probably perform in famous rodeo shows around Equestria.

 

Pinkie can over take Sugarcube Corner, and run the business herself.

 

Finally, Rarity can design dresses for popular ponies, and places like Canterlot.

Applejack went on to become the #1 seller of apples in all of Equestria. Her monopoly over the apple trade had made the Apple family the richest family in Equestria. However, Applejack died due to cyanide poisoning from her beloved apples. Her death caused an economic meltdown in Equestria and surrounding regions.

 

Rainbow Dash went on to become a member of the Wonderbolts! Her name was in big letters all throughout Equestria! However, Rainbow Dash died when she accidentally Sonic Rainboomed a Griffon embassy. It was seen as a strike on the Griffon Kingdom and they retaliated, plunging Equestria in a brutal war.

 

Fluttershy continued her veterinary care of animals and got better and better at it. She was known all across Equestria proper as somepony who could save even the most grievously injured animal. However, Fluttershy, along with 30% of all life on the planet, died when she saved the life of a Black Plague infected mouse by giving it CPR.

 

Rarity fulfilled her dream of being the Canterlot upper class. She was the #1 fashion designer in all of Canterlot and lived the high life. That is, until her along with all of the wealthy upper class were blamed for the financial meltdown. Occupy Canterlot occurred and she fled. Some say she went to Haywaii. Some say she simply moved underground. Some say that these speculations are stupid.

 

Pinkie Pie went on to plan for the Grand Galloping Gala. Her entire future was set as the Royal Princesses entrusted her to make the Gala the most fun event ever. Pinkie had succeeded. But the Gala the night before the Griffon-Pony war was trashed and bombed. Nobody ever found Pinkie's body. Some say she went insane. Others say that she left for another dimension. I say: She's right behind you.

 

Twilight Sparkle went on to become the greatest scientist and researcher in all of Equestria. She also served as the Prime Minister of Equestria for a time before she became sick of the politics and left. But as her friends brought the downfall of Equestria, Twilight became increasingly more and more distraught. So, as Equestria crumbles, Twilight used an advanced time travel spell to travel back in time before Nightmare Moon's return to relive the happiest days of her life. Over...and over...and over again.

Applejack will get enough money working and improving and expanding the farm to be sick of money and not want to be one of those $$$ ponies. She somehow ends up with wings and leaves her empire to do pegasus stuff -- eventually marrying a pegasus.

 

Twilight Sparkle eventually takes over Celestia's job as ruler of Equestria and riser of the sun. Surprisingly enough Luna doesnt retire when Celestia does and Twilight and Luna become very close friends.

 

Rainbow Dash forms a competing flight team to the wonderbolts and takes Equestria and beyond by storm. But eventually she gets older and less able to fly fast. Not wanting to simply be a legend from the past she makes a bad deal with discord that eventually works out with her being reset to scootaloo's age when discord is destroyed.

 

Fluttershy marries an exotic woodland creature and cares for many animals over her long life. She also learns several more ways to use her magic with her eyes -- becoming the first pegasus with the magical talent of a unicorn without having a horn.

 

Rarity continues down the road of seeing the hollowness of the elite and eventually finds true love in the hooves of a down to earth pony. She settles down and has many children.

 

Pinky Pie actually ends up taking over discords job but in a positive way at the time Discord is defeated utterly in the battle that regresses Rainbow Dash. She takes on the mantle of chaos but for good rather than for domination.

Nothing. Nothing at all. There will be no more of the mane six. Essentially, they die when the show end. They are cartoon characters in a cartoon world. When this world is ended, so are they. Sorry for the non-sappy answer but that's the honest truth unless Equestria is actually heaven on film

I could actually even see Twilight ruling next to princess celestia. I mean she doesn't have any other students.....and she must have taken on twilight for a higher purpose right? What would be the point o flearning all that magic if you couldn't do much with it?

Celestia is oldest pony. She has been through a LOT and is tired. She is so tired of galas that she invites the mane six just to shake things up. She needs a long long vacation away from responsibilities. She needs someone who can raise the sun in her absence. That pony is Twilight Sparkle.

*sniff* I don't want to think of the end... But everything with a beginning, must have an ending... I know we all wish MLP:FiM could run for 20+ seasons like The Simpsons, but we all know how that show is hardly funny anymore. We don't want MLP to be overdrawn, but I also wish it to be on air for as long as possible.

 

As for the Mane 6... none of us can really say because it won't be canon. We can always speculate, but you guys already spoke what I thought. Perhaps I will add on to your theories tomorrow, but remember that no matter what, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic will always be alive as long as there is still one true Brony out there in the world.
