If there were to be a brony country....

After reading some ancient posts on EQD I was wondering what a country run off of the morals and lessons shown in MLP:FiM would be like. A country run by bronies for bronies and having everything that is needed like a government and all that fun stuff. Would we be an egalitarian society or would we develop a sort of Caste system? would we be invaded or would we make international friends?

 

How would we do if we were to run our own country?

 

I think we would do pretty poorly at first but then rise to a respectable nation that would be stable.

Well we probably be a country like Denmark; very small, but an overall content and prosperous nation. As to what kind of government, I honestly have no clue. Probably somewhat Democratic, as it'd seem to fit our way of thinking best.

If Bronies had a country...

 

Well, we'd probably get crushed by the haters as soon as we are declared a country since we don't have magic or anything to protect ourselves (except guns, missiles, etc. that they would most likely use also). As for a government... maybe a monarchy? Like Equestria's government?

 

Although we wouldn't have Celestia or Luna as the rulers... that's the downside.

Because socialism is a government system that involves a lot of everybody helps each other out, which is what I think that we bronies are about. We are about love, tolerance, and helping each other and taking care of each other to better society.

Honestly i dont think we would get nuked/invaded because haters are ussualy attention seeking kids who have nothing else to do with their lives so they go around yelling how someone else is gay, not adult and responsible political leaders who run countries.

Also, I doubt any political leader would be stupid enough to propose a war because of this. "They like watching a cartoon with ponies, and we dont, so lets start a nuclear war and butcher millions of people!" - Not even those terrible 3rd grade action movies have plots as bad as this.

 

As for the country itself, i think it would run very nicely. People would in general be happy and very loyal and respectfull to each other, since we all share a great unique passion that connects us.

To put it bluntly, I would liken this to a theocracy; rules built upon old ideas that are not meant to be changed and reconsider to adapt to situations that were never considered when those ideas came along. I believe moralty is best reasoned and discussed, not dogmatically imposed without second thought.

 

This also puts aside the fact that the morals have already started contradicting each other. Case in point: season 2 finale, and the episode right before. There's probably an earlier example somewhere though.

Okay some of you may know me, most of you wont. I usually stay in RP world and hardly ever post in sugarcube but I had an idea and I wanted to put it up before someone else stole it.

What if there was a country of ONLY bronies? Think about it. Brony girls, Brony boys living together without being griefed for wearing their merch, meet another nice Brony girl and become friends. Life would be about 20% cooler not having to deal with crap about what we watch on T.V.

It sounds amazing, at least at first glance but there are some cons to it as well.

 

Cons:

-You may have friends who are'nt bronies who you might not see as often.

- Not all bronies are as awesome as us here on the forums. There are the sick ones, im not saying clopping is wrong, but there are a few lines that have been crossed esspecailly in fan-fic where things that would be deemed horrific run rampant.

-Being laughed at by other countries for being bronies.

-Your family would'nt be with you in this new land of magic!

-you might get sick of being a brony

-Pros:

-You meet alot of new people and make some great new friends.

-You wouldnt receive crap about being a brony.

-You can find alot of people you relate to and possibly even get a brony girlfriend/boyfriend

-The country could raise money and other valuables for the less fortunate and help with things that need assitance in the world

-The buildings, Music, art, culture, toys, even house paintings could be pony related! Imagine a house with a huge pinkie pie mailbox? Or a skyscraper building with Rainbow dashs cutie mark on it?

Imagine a shopping mall with Fluttershy ceiling art!

Imagine going to the club and hearing amazing brony songs from the wooden toaster, Mic the microphone, The living tombstone?

-How about governmet? Well for one our governmet could be built around the policy

Love and tolerate! Meaning that everyone is equal and that no one should be shunned for their beleifs, sexuality, and other personal things. Our governmet could stop things like political parties which make elections biased and tear the U.S apart.

-Imagine the names of the country!? Equestria and all the states/Providences could be called after pony town names! Imagine living in manehattan 9215 Octavia BLVD.?!

Consider the things I have listed, what would you think about living here? Would you move to a place like this? Would you enjoy going down to the club and ordering at the bar saying, "I'll have a mug of your finest Flim Flam cider please!" And then getting into an argument with the bartender over which is better apple family of Flim Flam cider. Imagine walking into work while the building is painted Pink and Yellow with nice big butterflies on it! Imagine going to the capital of the country to attend Canon events like the grand galloping gala, and the summer sun celebration? Meeting your special someone at a high ranking event in Canterlot castle (or atleast a replica) would certainly be amazing for me!

I would rather not be singled out as different from the rest of the world just because of what I'm interested in. I'll be honest, it would be great making lots of brony friends and whatnot, but I just don't think it would be worth it to me. I care too much about my family to do that, and the few friends I have that aren't bronies. (Which reminds me; I need to assimilate them still...)

 

I'm sure it'd be lots of fun, I can just imagine getting sick of it after a while.

The male to female ratio would be terrible. Go and take a look at the brony study. The amount of females that are bonies only makes up like 12%, so it would essentially be a sausage fest. So, while the concept sounds good in theory, I would rather stay where I am at.

How in the world will this work out? What if I were to vehemently disagree with this? Would you shun my beliefs because I believe love and tolerate makes a horrible ideal to build an actual government around? What does equal mean anyways? Everyone having just as much political power? Everyone receiving the same income? Giving smart people special helmets that lowers their IQ to average people? No idea how serious you are with this idea (hopefully it wasn't a very srs one), but morality is a lot more complicated than sweet and simple slogans.
