The Perfect 3-Song Set Concert

Hypothetical scenario:

Let's say you were given the opportunity to see your all-time favorite artist/band perform AT THEIR PEAK of quality/popularity and you had to construct the setlist of just 3 songs for a concert.

Which band do you see and which 3 songs do you see performed live? And why?

Mine:

Muse - Hysteria, Stockholm Syndrome, and Citizen Erased for the finale

Hysteria is my #1 favorite song thanks to discovering it on Rock Band. I have the album version, live at Wembley version, the prototype version (New One), backwards version, and three mashups involving it lol. Stockholm Syndrome is another top-5 favorite of mine because it has powerful lyrics and it's just beautiful to listen to. Finally Citizen Erased just because it feels like it would be an epic song to hear live and I would kill to hear it live someday. Also (I don't know if it's true or not) but Citizen Erased is a bit of a rare gem, in that it's not performed very often live and saved for special occasions.

Interesting. Here's mine:

Evile - Five Serpent's Teeth, Man Against Machine, Cult

Strapping Young Lad - Wrong Side, Detox, S.Y.L.

Gama Bomb - Skeletron, Zombie Blood Nightmare, Thrashaholic or Sentenced To Thrash

Warbringer - Living In A Whirlwind, Echoes From The Void, Combat Shock

Annihilator - The Fun Palace, Fiasco, Brain Dance

Mutant - Scrap Brain Zone, Laserdrome, The Rauncher

Overkill - Elimination, F*** You, Evil Never Dies

Sodom - Magic Dragon, Christ Passion, Wanted Dead or Nothing Counts More Than Blood

Kreator - Hordes of Chaos, Phobia, Pleasure To Kill

Im a shove some metal down ya throats!! Nah, but in all seriousness I'd go nuts over the Evile, SYL, Kreator or Sodom setlist.

i've never been to a concert of any kind. D=

That was my situation until about a month ago... I got beer spilled on my head and I enjoyed every second of that gig.

I don't think it was a Sonic reference, but I can see it. Either way:

I was like this too. The first concert I actually planned to go to (instead of being dragged or given free tickets to) was Muse in 2010.

If I had to choose more, I'd pick

Iron Maiden - Run to the Hills, The Number of the Beast, and The Trooper

Judas Priest - Breaking the Law, Painkiller, and Electric Eye

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under the Bridge, Dani California, and Give it Away

Rage Against the Machine - Killing in the Name, Maggie's Farm, and BULLS ON PARADE (one of my other like top-10 favorite songs)

System of a Down - BYOB, Aerials, and Chop Suey

oh and Killswitch Engage - My Curse, The End of Heartache, and This Fire

Well, I got to see Chicago early last month, and they were really good and played all three of these songs, but going back in time and seeing them when Terry Kath was still alive would be awesome - Beginnings, The Ballet For A Girl in Buchannon (am I cheating? It's a set of songs), and Call On Me.

Would say something for Streetlight Manifesto, but I saw them in March.

So I'll go with The Divine Comedy, who is European and that rules out me ever seeing them - Our Mutual Friend, Charmed Life, and Absent Friends.

That's it for me.

Dream Theater plays A Change of Seasons, Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, and closes with Octavarium.

Concert lasts 80 minutes!

Well as much as I'd love to see Dream Theater, this isn't my true dream 3 song set though, but it is certainly the longest!

I'd pay to see all of that. Mangini or Portnoy.
