Thoughts on Ashleigh Ball's band, Hey Ocean.

After seeing how much attention their Kickstarter got through EQD, I decided to give Hey Ocean a listen. While I am impressed by Ms. Ball's singing talent, I had a very lukewarm response to her band's songs. They sound like really generic pop tracks that I've heard from many other bands. Additionally, none of her band's songs are truly catchy enough to compel me to listen to them more than once.

This means that Rainbow Dash technically hasa band now. Gah more similarities to Sonic, they might as well slap some Red and White shoes on her and let her eat Chilidogs all day.

 

As for the song...meh. It's ok and better then most of today's stuff but I'll stick with my Video game music. Also Queen.

Hey Ocean! is personally one of my favorite bands. I'd recommend listening to "A Big Blue Wave" or "Make a New Dance Up" I find those two really catchy. "Turn up the stars" is another one I like just because it's really bluesy though.

I think Asheligh Ball looks pretty and has a good singing voice, but Hey Ocean aren't really my scene, I more of a House and Disco kind of guy
