A question only girls would know

Men can read this...but they won't exactly answer this since they haven't really experienced. Well, im not trying to make this sound like a gross thread..but females, I may ask this

I've always wondered. Why is it that MOST girls I have EVER known, uses Tampons? I'm JUST curious! Every girl at my school always either asks me "Hey, do you have a tampon, I started my period?" Or I over hear them saying they need to put a tampon in. I know some girls here use them. So I ask, what is so good about them? I have always used pads. They're comfy, and I hardly feel them..but with a tampon..you would think that'd be uncomfortable??? I am just wanting to know why most women use them..

So answer this ladies!

And don't sit here say this is weird, I've seen weirder topics this -.-...

Thanks!

Actually... my (ex)girlfriend taught me a lot about this stuff ;-;

Well, some women apparently dislike how pads feel like a diaper, and would rather use a tampon, which makes them feel older.

I don't understand it, and I never will.

I think they're less messy, but they're waaaaay more uncomfortable for me ;_;

I seriously hate them but I have to use them for swimming ;_;

*feels slightly violated for answering this question* XD

With tampons you can you can swim, shower, and bathe and they are discreet. Some girls report feeling like they are wearing a diaper when they use pads. Others don't like to sit in their blood.

It appears to be a mostly preferential thing.

I thought I might be able to answer it untill you said tampon. Yes, it is a woman question. Oh well. Seems weird you would ask that in a forum like this though.

@@Sugar Sprinkles, Well I don't know anything about why. But I could guess it's about what you think it comfortable or is easiest to use or carry with you when needed.

Anyways, another thread similar to this where some posters discuss alternative options.

Haha, I never even noticed that thread. Everyone on here is saying this is weird. Well, i've seen worse topics, and they don't have to answer, Menstrual cycle is normal. Anyways, yeah I am more comfortable with pads. The thought of a tampon going up..............y'know haha, but it's opinions

Haha nah.

Seriously though, yeah I understand. I think you should do what you find most confortable. If you don't want to try tampons then don't. If you think pads are good and is comfortable I see no reason to change.

Don't fix what's not broken.

My opinion is similar to this quote. Don't change if pads works good for you.

..y'know

  • 6 years later...

The majority of us girls use them it seems like, but not all of us. I personally do not like using tampons at all and have always used pads. Pads work just fine for me, I remember trying tampons a couple years back but after having too much trouble with them I gave up. :yeahno:
