question: how to make avatars and signatures

Is there any computer programs from the internet,that I could use to make my own avatars and signatures?

If I have any graphics to make, I use Paint.NET, its free for Windows users. It has a lot of features from Photoshop, but it doesn't have all of them.

I believe Sony Vegas can be used to make signatures, especially animated ones.

I'm the only one who does though....

Most animated stuff is done with photoshop around here.

Or just any graphical designs.
