Shelby wanted to take her mind off of worrying about Velnir, so she went down to the prison. She had heard about a couple of new prisoners and the death of two Earth Pony guards. When she arrived, she saw two Unicorns, one female and the other male, lying in their cells.

"Hey, did any of you kill the guards..?"

"Yeah, I did. And what of it?" The male spoke. He got up and noticed a pretty Earth Pony mare. "I killed them due to suspicion."

"And her? Did she help you?"

Vinyl walked back over and laid down on the bed. She rolled over and looked at Cherry. "I don't know. Maybe. We sent a small group of ponies to go scout some of the earth pony territory and possibly see where they were hiding the food, but some of them were caught, including one of my officers."

On the trail back to the EPK Fatigue was getting very hype. So Surge i see your going to give in to the act of war. Iv been waiting for this day. I cant wait to cut some horns off those uppity unicorns. They would look good on my wall. Ooooo maybe ill break them down to the base so i can still use the magic in it. Ahhhh man im so ready for this! What about you Velinr? You ready to come out of hiding and show the uptight unicorns how we do things? Surge just walked quietly leading the group. In thought...This is no suppose to happen. Id rather not have to fight. Even thou my kingdom is ready im still not to sure about this......Sigh....i wish Martin were here to help me with this. He would know what to do. Wait maybe he has some plans in his room. Ill check when we get back. Looking at Tigue. Well hes awfully happy about this.

Cherry Blossom let her back rest on the bed next to Vinyl Blade. "Can't there be s-something else other than war?I really don't like the idea of violence at all." she tilted her head to the right side and blinked. "So what is i-it like to be a leader of the Unicorns?"

Vinyl wrapped her hoof around Cherry. "I wish there was something other than war, but the earth ponies have never really been ones for negotiating. Being the leader of the unicorns is... I don't know. It just is. You get the honor of being the empress, but there's so much responsibility that comes with it and things always need to be done. There's so much going on in this generation that I've had to hire ponies to help me with most of the paperwork. I just want a break every once in a while."

Cherry Blossom blushed when Vinyl Blade put a hoof around her. "I-It sounds very stressful, but I think I may have an idea. Would you like me to give you a tour of Pegalopolis. I-I know a spa nearby that I think you would really enjoy." she smiled with her cheeks still in a shade of pink.

Vinyl wrapped the other hoof around her and pulled her close so that their faces almost touched. "I'd love you to give me a tour. We could grab a bite to eat, walk around, talk to each other, and go to the spa. Ah, it'll be a great day."

Velnir looked angry, "Do I want to go kill ponies? Do I LOOK like I want to run around killing ponies? And what about when they stop bringing the sun up, and our crops die? Or when they make an alliance with the pegasi and the rain stops coming? That's your problem Fatigue; not only are you a war-obsessed brute, but you don't think for the future." Velnir stomps of infront of them, "When there is a reason to fight that outweighs our reasons for peace, then I will draw blood. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to check and see if the guards I ordered on the caves found any of the unicorns in our border." He stomps of towards town.

"Huh?! Oh, I'm feeling ok, I guess. These bruises aren't much but I can't really say the same for my head," said Star Rain, looking up from her book. She put the book down on the table. "So what's going to happen now? I heard there's going to be a lot more protection now that the Commander was caught", she said to Letrix. It's going to be at least 3 days before she can get up and do something military-wise again.

 

"We're going to need a lot more than more protection. Knowing the Earth Ponies they are going to see this as an act of war seeing as Fireblade killed two of the Earth Ponies guards and I ummm... Didn't hide the bodies as well of I could have done." Letrix replied feeling like it was partly his fault that Sapphire had been captured. "You also might want to be careful seeing as they saw you there they might negotiate your head for food... It's happened before..."

"O-Oh umm, y-y-yeah I guess t-that w-would be g-g-great." Cherry Blossom blushed even harder as she tried to move her face away from Vinyl's. "Though I don't know if we could really grab a bite to eat. Remember that we still have a problem with the food supply and the Earth Ponies."

Vinyl naturally looked down and loosened up at the realization. "Oh... Right, forgot about that... There's still some food though." Vinyl hugged her, got out of the bed, and started walking around the room. "You know, there's something I don't get. There's millions of unicorns, but not one that can conjure up food. If we had unicorns that could just poof up food whenever they wanted, then we wouldn't have this problem."

"Don't Unicorns have their own land? I mean they could try and grow some crops, just like the Earth Ponies, right?" Cherry Blossom asked as she watched Vinyl Blade move about in the room. "Unicorn magic is really powerful, so why not mimic how the Earth Ponies work?"

"The thing is, it's not as easy as it sounds. Earth ponies have their own 'magic', a connection with the earth, that allows them to grow food easily, at least more easily than we can. No matter. I'm going to wash up before we leave." She walked into the bathroom and got onto the shower.

"O-Okay, then I'll wait here." Cherry Blossom waved as Vinyl Blade went inside of the shower. She sighed and fell back onto the bed, now relaxed. Now I know, that the leader of the Unicorns is a bit too arousing. she thought, looking at the window shining light from outside.

While she was in the shower, Vinyl thought about Cherry. She cleaned herself off and, in about ten minutes, she stepped out of the shower. She dried off her coat, mane, and tail and walked back into the bedroom while fixing her mane and getting it to lay around her horn just right. She smiled at Cherry and asked, "Ready?"

"Y-Yes, I'm ready to go," Cherry Blossom replied as she got off of the bed and secured her red bow. "Where do you want to go first out of all the places in Pegalopolis? D-Do you want to just have a walk around the city?" she asked as she slowly walked towards the door.

Star Rain didn't understand, but had a feeling it isn't good. "Wait, what do you mean that they might negotiate my head for food? And who exactly is "they" ?" asked Star Rain. I wonder what somepony will do when they find those rocks I left? I hope a Unicorn finds them.

"Of course I did. And I owe you thanks for keeping me happy and warm."

She hugged him closely as his head rested on hers.

 

After about six hours of just laying in bed with Greylight in a state of complete peace between consciousness and sleep, Martin said "Hey Grey... I think my leg fell asleep" he laughed a little "You wanna' go out and do something or do we have more planning to do?"

"I think I want to walk around for a little while, take in the sights. Afterwards we can eat. Do you have an idea of where you want to go? Then after that, we'll go to that spa you were talking about. Ah, I can tell that this is going to be a relaxing day. I'm glad I can spend it with you."

Cherry Blossom smiled and nodded. "Okay, we'll go for a little walk, but we could go to the edge of Pegalopolis and have a large view of the land," she said as she start to hover out the door. "I'm sure you've been around here a couple of times right?" she asked as she whistled for a cloud taxi.

"Well by they I meant the Earth Ponies. Chances are they might decide to negotiate or threaten the Unicorn kingdom for you to become one of there prisoners or for them to execute you. Because you were seen in the Earth Pony kingdom with Sapphire and Fire Blade. And Fire Blade killed two Earth Ponies so there deaths could be blamed on you because there is no proof you didn't do it." Letrix replied to her. Vinyl looked a bit embarrassed. "Um... No, well yes, but it was only one time and I only saw the Capitol. I never got to see outside except the limited view from the carriage, but that was it. Other than that time, I've had no reason to come to the pegasus kingdom." She got in the taxi next to Cherry when it came

"Cloudsquare please." Cherry Blossom said as the driver nodded and started pulling the cloud like a chariot. "Now you get to see all of Pegalopolis while you're with me." she smiled and looked around, watching the tall, cloud and ice made structures that scraped the sky.

Vinyl leaned on her shoulder. "And there's nopony else I'd rather see it with. Cherry... I love you. I really do. Maybe after this is over we could travel all over the world together. The war won't last forever and maybe when it's over, the world'll be a better place."

"Well, it depends on what you feel like we have to do. We should probably get to planning so we don't upset Vinyl, but I really would just like to spend the day... alone... with you."

She was still snuggled up close to Martin with her eyes closed.
