Sorry to disappoint, but it sort of died, rather than closed.

I was one of the judges, voting did proceed unto the final stretches. 

Whoever the OP was, decided to disappear.

Anyways, if you want this to happen, I would be more than happy to create a new one.

Haha, well then, color me Pinkie. Yeah, I had no clue if this was still running. I see lots of things go to the wayside around these parts. I think it would be awesome to have a Christmas fanfic competition. Tell you what, here in just a minute I am opening my thread for my Hearth's Warming giveaway. If you make the thread and get back to me, I will toss a link in the giveaway. I will announce the winner on Christmas Eve when I do the livestream.
