A Proposal: MLP Forums Music Experiment

I'm pretty sure most of you here have heard of the online radio service that is last.fm. While browsing the statistics for the /mu/ group, I had a genius idea: What if us members of MLP Forums made a group? Over time, we would be able to tell lots of things about MLP Forum's musical preference as a whole. Favorite artists, most plays, plus, we'd have a chance to recommend each other bands and all. Now I think monthly, or weekly, or any other increment of time, we could post the stats for MLP Forum's listening for everyone to see.

Last.fm accounts are free, of course, so it's not like this would be an exclusive thing that some forum members couldn't partake in. And I'm sure that many of you might already have last.fm's.

So whaddya guys think about this?

I disagree with the above post because everyone here likes dubstep. Mostly.

 

But eh, I have no idea if this will work.

Well, it's hard to say that. I mean, there's always a common artist that we all share. Whether it be brony music, or just some pop band. A fine example (for a song) would be Gangam Style. While not everyone listens to the same thing, there is always going to be common artists.

I don't see this not "working", because it's not a task, as much as a general survey. You can't get your opinions wrong.

That's what I was thinking. There's two ways of going about finding accounts, really. It'd be either having them register/post their accounts in a thread (such as this one), but then we wouldn't receive a vast majority of members who wouldn't see this thread. Yet if there's some sort of "announcement", as was done with the fanfic contest and every other "extranet" activity, then we could generate more attention towards the group.
