ExplosionMare 17,844
A thriller called “Sleeper”. It’s about a girl w/REM sleep (you act out your dreams) and this medication she takes causes her to experience the dreams outside of sleeping.
Oleks 1,967
The Fifth Elephant by Terry Pratchett. It's quite good, even though a bit more brutal than Pratchett's other books I've read.

Miss 5,320
Currently reading The Lost Files: Hidden Enemy. It's an anthology book of 3 spin-off stories from the Lorien Legacies Franchise. Famous for the first book in the series: "I Am Number Four." Catching up on these side stories before I continue on the main series. It's a very long series to get into many years after the first book came out, considering it's still ongoing as well. It's pretty decent so far, but not really reading it super excited to finish it. After this it's another spin-off book from the series and then back to main storyline. But before those two it's going to be the My Little Pony Manga and the Equestria Girls book based on the Summer Sun Setback.
Dreambiscuit 6,704
'Lost Boy' by Christina Henry. She's got a great way of basing stories on fairy tales and adding a gritty edge.
Oleks 1,967
Finishing Big Mac and Other Stories by Serhiy Zhadan. I usually find non-sci-fi short stories boring, but this book has some pretty interesting ones and a very smooth writing style.
Dreambiscuit 6,704
‘Alice’ by Christina Henry. I like her style of writing but this one is such a filthy book; a little bit too much for me. Hopefully the next book will improve in this respect.
Early Sunsets 2,095
I'm re-reading "Firestar's Quest" for the tenth time in my life or something. I used to be obsessed with the Warrior Cats series, though I fell away from the books and fandom after a while. Finding myself with nothing to read while Tui Sutherland works on the next Wings of Fire book, I decided to go back and pick up some of the old books (I have the special editions of Bluestar's Prophecy and Firestar's Quest with the full-cover art, along with every book in the first four series). To me, it was not as interesting as, for example, the books about Rincewind, but still quite good. And right now I'm reading The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman, the last book of the trilogy His Dark Materials that I've been binging for the last few weeks. I must say it has some interesting ideas and an inventive setting.
Once In A Blue Moon 893
1 hour ago, Tropical Melody said: Sorry only just seen this. Just not "grabbing me" like the others. I vaguely recall not getting into The Fifth Elephant as much as other Pratchett books, though I couldn't say why either. At the moment I'm switching between the rather heavy 'Napoleon the Great' that, while rather interesting (and relevant, given that I'm rather enjoying Europa Universalis IV at the moment), can be a bit much for bedtime reading; and Freeport Venture: Old Wounds in which I will admit to enjoying the familial conflict a bit too much. Chengar Qordath is one of my favourite authors, pony-writing or otherwise, and the interpersonal relationships throughout their stories are very well done - as in Fallout Equestria, I am repeatedly amused by the realisation that the most appealing part of my favourite MLP stories is in fact the very human aspects of their characters. Tropical Watermelon 4
I am reading Fallout Equestria for a second time. I'm more than halfway trough it. It's one of the best books I have read in a long time. I was lucky enough to be able to purchase a printed edition a few years ago. Love the feeling of being able to read it on paper. I like it more than digital.
