Guys, we need to go back in history. The Pilgrims from Great Britain had just landed in America and food was hard to grow. One year they had a huge harvest, and so they were very "thankful" for it and made it a celebration. So no, Thanksgiving is not over-rated, but people should think of it as more than a day off or an excuse to get fat or drunk. Hope I cleared some things up for you!

I am just throwing this out there so don't send me hate mail but am I the only one who thinks Thanksgiving is a bit overrated? I mean you need to get dress up and go someplace, stand around for 3-4 h

Meh.   I don't really like Thanksgiving. I hate mashed potatoes and turkey, I hate going to parties and I hate socializing with people I don't know.
