I've been a member of the furry fandom for a few years and I must say that they are THE friendliest peeps on the net (Yes, some are more friendly than Bronies). I've only lurked in the House M.D. community, but they seem really intelligent/awesome people overall. Same goes for the Mythbusters fans. The Digimon fandom IMO is really awesome and way better than the Pokemon fandom (Not saying the Pokemon fandom sucks). Adventure time.. well, I've seen a few forums/people associated with the show and they seem cool, but I'm yet to do more research on them.

I've been playing Lego since I was 2 years old, and have been interested in Star Wars at the age of 5. Minecraft didn't come until much later of course. I started playing and become obsessed with the game since Beta 1.3. I started watching Doctor Who around mid-late 2012 (last year) and started watching Adventure Time at the end of last year.

I don't think I'd put the brony fandom anywhere in my list near the top. So the list wouldn't change if I added it or not.

Anywho, it's as follows.

 

• Pokemon. Long-time fan (then again who isn't?) with tons of fan content made every day.
• Pikmin. Small, tight-knit community. We're all psyched for Pikmin 3.
• Animal Crossing. very comparable to the early brony fandom in terms of acceptance and originality.
• Avatar The Last Airbender. brought Japanese anime to the American mainstream (I'm aware it's not technically anime).
• Walking Dead because Walking Dead.

Other than MLP im involved in these other fandoms in no particular order

 I have always LOVED pokemon. I cant even remember a time before i liked pokemon. With Mario i just played the games and fell in love. Im not saying they're the best games ever, some could be better in many ways but i just have fun playing them and the fandom is pretty nice.  I came on to the furry scene just about a year ago. The people are AMAZING and so is the art ( or at least the non-porn art)  and with the last one I like their music and so do many of my friends. The fandom helped me get through a tough spot in life that i will never forget.

The only other active fandom that I'm seriously involved in right now is anime. 

 

In the past, though, I was a big comic book fan until it became too expensive to keep up with multiple series on a monthly basis.  Now I just take a peek at comics every now and again.  I was also a big Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan, but that fandom petered out as the show went off the air in 2003 and its spinoff Angel in 2004. 

 

I've also had definite interest in Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica (reimagined version), and to a lesser extent Star Trek, though I don't know if I'd say I was ever really involved in the fandoms for those franchises.

I have always been extremely nostalgic about Pokemon and Elder Scrolls games.

 

I love Skyrim and Oblivion, even if it has lost much depth from the god of a game that is Morrowind.

 

Pokemon blows almost all rpgs, no matter what ANYONE says. Pokemon games are amazing, they are outstandingly well put together rpgs that introduced tons of new features that stuck with rpgs forever, and that is not just nostalgia from me. With a kickass community to go along with it, what else could you ask for in a game series?

I'm a metalhead. I listen to metal everyday and people think it's weird that I'm both a brony and a metalhead. Well sheesh, can't a guy like me listen to death metal and watch ponies without being labeled a weirdo?

 

I'm also like the Pokemon master. I know how to EV train and breed. I've made Pokemon grow +10 on a stat when they level up.

Um, probably Minecraft I guess, thats the only one I'm really a part of at all anymore, i check it out ocationally. The people are nicer then most fandoms, even if they aren't as good as you guys(which is why i much rather spend my time here most of the time anyways)

 

I really don't get into many fandoms to be honest, the ones I do I don't normally end up liking the community in much anyways. Although here is certainly an exception, this is the most active I've been in a fandom i think, Minecraft probably falls second on that list I guess.

1. Touhou fandom - Probably tie with FiM for favorite fandom based on how much fan work gets created, much of it being high quality.

2. Anime community - With nearly endless titles, I find there's always something new to discuss.

3. Lolita community - I've always been a fan of elegant dresses and looking majestic.

4. Homestuck fandom - While I'm not terribly into the comic itself, the fan works are still entertaining.

5. S.C.P. community - Apart from the numerous games, the various creepypasta are also pretty good.

The Pokémon Fandom. As a member of 3 different Pokémon forums, I think I know what I'm talking about when I say that the Pokémon community is awesome and filled with tons of different and varied people.

 

Wait...I'm not in any other fandoms. I've been meaning to check out a few shows but I never get around to it.

Pokemon is the only other fan community I've been part of, and I honestly prefer it to the MLP:FiM community. (Though not these forums. I prefer these forums above all forums. It's just as a whole, I prefer the Pokemon fandom over MLP) It probably has to do with the fact that I like Pokemon more than ponies, and that Pokemon fans don't tend to be so overly enthusiastic about something I'm only lukewarmly interested in.

There are two fandoms I can say that I do quite enjoy besides My Little Pony.

 

There's the SCP fandom, which is very excellent and come up with some great things. I'm not active in that fandom though, but I do lurk around the SCP boards and play SCP all the time and discuss it with others. I of course play the My Little Foundation: Containment is Magic mod as well.

 

The other fandom is Ed, Edd, n' Eddy. The show never had a huge fandom, but I am a member of an Ed, Edd, n' Eddy board and we're a pretty close-knit community. I am very active in that fandom and I have written a few stories and drawn a few pictures as well. There are also a couple of really cool animations relating to the show by an Ed, Edd, n' Eddy fan who apparently met the creator of the show and is privy to a lot of show secrets, especially a lot of stuff from the series bible and deleted scenes.

I completely agree with you on the fan content aspect; the My Little Pony fanbase not only crank out more fan content than you could imagine, but a lot of it is actually good and enjoyable. That's definitely one of the aspects that drew me into the fandom.

While I've never gotten heavily involved in any fandom before this one, I'm still a huge Trekkie. My knowledge of Star Trek is vast. And thought I haven't had much to do with the rest of the Starcraft fandom, again, I have a lot of knowledge of that franchise; I always played the games for the plot more than the gameplay itself. I'm technically in those two fandoms, but I'm still alone.
