If you had to write an episode without the Mane 6

How would you do it? A montage where we see what at bunch of different background ponies are doing for 30 seconds each? Develop a character like Derpy or Vinyl Scratch? Go the CMC route?

 

Personally I would make my episode about Silver Spoon dropping Diamond Tiara and becoming friends with Apple Bloom instead.

 

"That's it?? You could at least explore my character some more and tell them what my cutie mark means."

 

Stop talking inside my head! You're not even a major character. Okay, I'll say your cutie mark means financial expertise or a knack for antiquing. You know, you can look at something and immediately determine its worth, sort of like Antiques Ponyshow or something. That could work.

Hmm i'd do multiple episodes.

 

One episode would be with Celestia and Luna, revealing a more realistic side to their relationship as both rulers and sisters.

 

Second episode would be with Derpy with a GOOD back story, and a possible relationship with Time Turner( Doctor whooves, whatever he is called)

 

and Third, maybe a special Royal guard episode, because frankly, they barely get any screen time, so they deserve an episode for keeping Equestria's princesses safe.

I wouldn't go the 'cram as many background ponies in as possible' route just so that we don't have a load more interesting characters/stories which will never be heard of again properly.

A day in the life of the Princesses would have my vote. Be it their present lives or past.

Second to that would be a villains back story. Not Discord though as I'm not a fan

 

Failing those, any background pony at random fleshed out.

The tittle of the episode would be "Days On Equestria" I would take the narrative of a "full day" taking us to 3 different days, 3 different scenes staring 3 different groups, The first one would be a flash back to know how Shining Armor asked Candance to marry him, all day the two of the together and finishing with the “big question”. Here shining armor will look like a klutz because he is dying from the nerves and Candance will enjoy some of that before saying yes.

 

The second one would be one with the Apple’s oldest son Big Mac, here we will follow him one full day getting some stuff for his sisters and granny around Ponyville running errands and doing stuff with other BG ponies ending each “event ”saying few “quotes” about why is he always there for everypony. In the end he would go back to his house and room where he would take up a photo album with a melancholic face there are pictures of him and his parents with each one of those “quotes” Big Mac used as an example of being a good pony. Ending with “Just as you told me Dad”.

 

I just say before and inspired by Vedana Purity The third will be one would be a day with the Sun and Moon sisters doing what the do normally and then running away to enjoy a little of life. Ending with the both of them writing to Twitlight and the others about how good is to be back together thanking them about breaking Luna free and telling Twi of her next step in Magic study

Oh, god, there is so much I would do with this.

I want more Granny Smith episodes (she wasn't even that prevalent in Family Appreciation Day). I think one about her meeting her husband would be nice (I mean, if she has a husband...she did have one of Applejack's parents, right? XD)

I want more Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara generally just being evil, as per usual.

And I want one where Flim and Flam meet Prince Blueblood and team up for something. That would be AMAZING XD

How Celestia and Luna got in the picture (they were on the flag but not there yet...do not get ;_ ; )

AND STEPHEN MAGNET! He had nothing! XD I want him to return! (He's the sea monster in le first epi, by the way.)

But really, maybe an episode about different places where ponies live other than Equestria? So little history lessons on Manehatten, Fillydelphia, Saddle Arabia, etc.

The story of how Octavia got her cutie mark. I doubt it would have Vinyl, just cause they probably wouldn't meet until they were older.

It would be about her struggle as an earth pony trying to learn how to play a musical instrument that is usually only played by unicorns. Lyra would make fun of her for trying to start, but would end up being her friend and supporting her by the end because she admires Octavia's  determination, and the fact that she is really good.

I'd make an episode about Twilight Sparkle possessing the Alicorn Amulet and turning evil, and having the rest of the Mane 6 to try and stop her rain of terror.

 

Also, an episode that includes Pinkamena Diane Pie. That's my only requirement.

Maybe Mrs. Cake is going around town getting stuff for baking and Pound and Pumpkin are just running around and seeing all of the other side characters. Or maybe they are playing a hide and seek game with Pinkie and at the end they find her.

 

It is a tricky idea for them, but I would want to see more of them.

 

Another one would be if Shining Armor and Cadence were thinking about having a kid, but wanted to see the hard life with it. So they go to Mr. and Mrs. Cake and just see how they are doing and spend a day with Pound and Pumpkin. Also what else comes from having a baby.

That is one hilariously dysfunctional team. Trixie (the leader?) is the most powerful and that's saying very little. Stephen and Blueblood might be on the same page, but Fancypants is too refined and mature for them. Flim and Flam would just try to con everypony in the group. Granny Smith would lecture them all and then hobble off to take a nap.

-A flashback episode where we find out what happened a thousand years ago when Luna became Night Mare Moon

 

On that note:

-A flashback episode where we find out more about King Sombra's backstory.

-A flashback episode where we find out how Celestia and Luna rose to power and conquered Discord.

 

 

OH! OH! Or you could combine all three ideas into an epic two-parter story!

People have already thought of this but I would have to do a Doctor Whooves special. It would be a bit like the Doctor Who Christmas  Special but its in Ponyville!!! Hopefully Hasbro would be able to convince Tennant to do the voice....

 

I really like The-Master's idea, it's rather interesting and would work very well I think.
