( a bit out of date) Lightning Dust

I actually really liked lightning dusts character, i mean RD isn't my favourite of the mane 6 but although  they're kind of alike i liked lightning dust a bit more, I actually really hope we see her again, there was a certain charm to her

 

(EXTRA: I also liked 'Raise This Barn' but everyone else seemed to hate it)

 

Whats your opinion on Lightning Dust?

She was pretty cool, in a way. At first she seemed confident, but as the episode went on you realized that that confidence was simply arrogance. She put herself above other ponies, which is probably why I disliked her. She was, however, a good friend to Rainbow Dash.

 

Raise this barn was pretty good. I really liked the Western feel to it. And, of course, it helped children learn how to count.

 

tl;dr: She was arrogant, and thought she was above everypony else.

I thought she was kind of a bitch and was really rude to all the other ponies at the Wonderbolt Academy. I didn't really like her very much.

i suppose it was her outgoing-ness, in fact it may even be her colour scheme

I liked how craftily her character was developed and she was a good character in a writing sense. She is, however, a jerk. So, good character, bad pony.

Lightning Dust was cool up until the few last appearances she made. I know these kind of people, they don't really see much, other than themselves and other people that are a "Match" to them. I'm not fond of these people, so my opinion on Dust isn't to appealing...

She made a good foil to Rainbow Dash, showing what she might be like without her more positive traits and with her flaws amplified. I don't like her especially, but I like the purpose that she served. The episode was better because of Lightning Dust, and she has a lot of potential for return in future episodes. She's clearly not a good person, but she's a good character.

Turns out the alternative ending is that Lightning Dust will realize her own mistakes and stay as RD's friend, but the bitching ending was chosen instead.

 

In my opinion she is a pretty cool girl, maybe it's just her over-enthusiasm to the whole Wonderbolt business that bring out her inner-bitch at the wrong place.

Unlike Trixie, who was made to be an 'opposing personality' character to rival Twilight in an antagonistic way, Lightning Dust served as a morally opposite character to interact with Dash in a friendly rival sort of way. She was portrayed as what Dash can be like at her worst (overly competitive, not hesitating to cheat in order to win, reckless, etc), and in being like that, Dash was able to see this, and gain a character development opportunity by maturing past that, and putting what truly matters ahead of her own desires, unlike what Lightning Dust did.

 

I thought she was a good character, who served her purpose well. I wouldn't mind her coming back in another episode someday, like how Trixie did. In such an episode, I would expect Lightning Dust to be a bitter rival character to Dash, since that's what the end of Wonderbolt Academy lead to, more or less.

I think her character was very well developed considering the short space of time they had to do it. However, I didn't like her as a pony, I thought she was mean and completely showed the worst aspects of Rainbow's character.

Lightning Dust (lightning leaves dust?) was a good character because she reflected Dash's bad side while bringing out her good side. And showed non-Dash fans that no, Rainbow is not most aggressive or egotistical pony. They come a lot worse.

I really liked her color scheme and lightning trail but she was really rude I kinda want to see an episode with a totally hopeless Lightning Dust and then RD forgiving and cheering her up.

I think Lighting Dust was just under a bad influence when she was younger, maybe she was taught to be the best she could be no matter what and was under a lot of pressure. 

 

She should come back in Season 5. she isn't a villain, she is just under bad ideology.

Regardless of what I said about her in other threads, I actually really like her! She provides a nice counterpoint to Rainbow Dash (being a lot more effective than Gilda, IMO), and I think that Dash might look at Lightning Dust in a sense like "if I didn't have my friends I could've been just like Lightning Dust."

 

"Wonderbolt Academy" was such a wonderful episode. <3
