Christian bronies: meet, greet, and mingle!

What is SRS and what is gender dysphoria. Forgive me for my ignorance to such topics.

Oh no, it's fine. Gender dysphoria just means gender dissatisfaction, but what I meant was that your birth gender does not match your birth sex.

And SRS is sex reassignment surgery. I think you know what that does, given the name.

I see. Well I won't say you are wrong in believing that. I will say I'm pretty sure man invented SRS but who's to say all great inventions were not in some way inspired by God?

Anyway, I hope you see that those here don't "object" for the most part and NONE of us would dar say the same hateful, monstrous, cruel, and decidedly un-Christian things she said to you!

I don't think God invented SRS, just provided the tools.

And what my mom really said was that I am living sin if I am to pursue this (literally 100% chance I will) and that I cannot walk with God if I do so.

Nope. Come on, do you really think so on THIS forum? =P

Anyways, I know a few trans people and have no problem with any of them. Most transgender people (I hope at least) do it because of a mental disorder called gender identity disorder, (GID). There is nothing in the bible about healing illnesses being bad, it only mentions that people should keep their own pleasures under God in their list of priorities.

Edit: What I meant to say is I don't even think that being transgender is being sinful, only if you become transgender for "fun."

I'm assuming by becoming transgender you mean getting SRS. Unless you're doing it privately, you have to be sure as heck that you want surgery before they let you get it.

I'm trans. Do any of you object?

I don't object not in the sense that I necessarily agree, but in the sense that I will not hate and nor belittle you. We are all children of God. :)

The Devil introduced gender dysphoria to confuse people.

I fail to see the logic in this, since God made our bodies imperfect, and with good reason in mind for doing so(re: made in the image and likeness of God). So, I'd think calling it a devil-introduced thing would be wrong, as it is attributing to him to having played a role in the formation of our physique. What us humans do with said imperfections, that is where the Devil comes in with temptations, trying to leading us into un-Christian like ways of dealing with such problems.

Just my two cents.

Not at all. I personally don't know whether or not being trans is a sin. But regardless, I certainly don't object to people being that way. It's just who you are :)

Right here.

I may not be the biggest Christian: I don't really attend church as of right now, but I do believe in the Lord and that he works miracles and good things every day. I would love to start being more active in it, which I plan to by reading the Bible more actively. I grew up in a Christian household myself, and I think the Lord has helped with many things in me: for exmaple, earlier this year, I was battling an unstable mood disorder and severe depression, but I haven't had a slip up since at least April, and I thank God for that. If any other Christian bronies would love to chat sometime, that would be great, I have Skype or you can just PM me here! :)

Hi, welcome to the thread :D

It's great to hear that God has helped you out so much. And don't worry, I'm not the biggest Christian either :P

So I'm reading about bronies online and I find this absolutely illogical article that, judging by the comment section, isn't satire. It's the most illogical non-satire Christian article I've ever read. I got a laugh out of this one. http://apologeticsministries.com/5-reasons-why-god-hates-my-little-pony/

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!

That is by far the funniest non-satire Christian article I've read in a while. And boy, there's a lot of them

"...[E]xtremely large fan base of grown men, obviously this is the work of satanic witchcraft..." uh... what? So would like... NCIS be satanic because of all the women watching it...? xD

"...Rainbow Dash is lesbian slime".... yeah right. If I remember my sleuthing from a while back, Lauren Faust specifically left sexual preferences of the ponies out of the show so, as that was not the show's purpose or aim.

"...[T]eaches young girls to go out and pursue a career and try to be survive on their own, when they should be at home, serving their husbands." Truth be told, in this day in age, sometimes family don't have enough money coming in, so they need as many hands as possible. Of course, the woman of the household should usually put homemaking as the overarching thing, but that's not the case in modern times.

"...[F]an-made plot cupcakes." Note: It's not the show.

Is this satire? Comment section is not clear. I think it is.

The absolute ignorance of these people. If you want to be taken seriously, at least use a spell checker.

Can someone point me to a defense of bronies by a Christian? I'm having trouble finding something.

My thoughts exactly while reading it. If anything is "lesbian slime", it's the Smooze. ;)

That second one really got me! XD

"the dark lord Stan" I'm still in fits laughing at that XD

Haven't seen any defence of bronies video or article or anything like that. Although, the closest I've found is YouTube channels like MLPShadyOaksMinistries which uses mlp to spread the Word of God. That's about it though, sorry :/

If this were a true religious article, I'd probably not even see the pictures that are embedded in it (e.g. Gay Overload, and the cosplaying guy)... I don't know. It's iffy. Edited by Sudo Krenton

Sorry to go off-topic, but what OS is that? Android?
A linux flavor called Elementary OS, which uses some of the structures Ubuntu has. It's alright(it being version 0.4, I'm giving slack). I'm still learning about it.

We are on the 100th page, yay! :yay:

By object I mean disagree. <3

Then I will explain my disagreement, or at least part of it because I think it is better no not enter into any debates here. A concern I have is about the methods involved in SRS, they involve physically changing the body and the intake of hormones that are foreign to the body. All of this I find harsh to the organism, and there are heart complications that can come from that.

Just for the sake of clarification, I don't think that transgender people are evil.

Hello, welcome to the herd flock. :D

Yes, I would like to chat. My Skype is tiago.paolini , if you (or anyone else) wants to add me, I just ask to tell there what is your nick on the forum so I know where you are coming from. ;)

By the way, God helping us in our lives is the biggest reason for believing in God I have, with the second being the historicity of Christ. I feel somewhat frustrated that God's aid isn't really effective for using on debates on the existence of God, as it rely on a personal experience that the other side supposedly didn't have, but in the end of the day I think that they are only attributing God's actions to an extremely unlikely chain of "coincidences".

It is either ignorant or not serious. If people refuse to engage in a rational discussion, it is better to not even lose time with them.

This is not exactly what you asked, but here are two posts of Christians explaining why they like the show:

Bullshit! She is wrong and should be ashamed of herself for saying such things to her own child! Your transgender choice does not bring you any further from God, especially if it helps you realize yourself.
