But do you really think some petty insurrection of yours can go against the mighty mastadon that is THE Twilight Sparkle? What you have here is just some little squabbling force who managed to gain enough support to make it here. It's better to stand down now than face the consequences later, my friend. Do you really think you stand a chance? Against Twilight? Just because you can knock some suckers out like Applejack or Rainbow Dash doesn't mean you can take out the top dog, dawg.

Heck no, you know me better than that. I'm promoting my two favorite ponies left in the poll. I'd like Ly vs. Shy as well, but I do like Octy better.

 

Lest we assume Twilight is the only contestant who can sparkle...

I don't think that's what we're doing, it's just another way to promote bth Octavia and Lyra's attractiveness in that not only does a beautiful mare win either way but we get a close competition too.

Now see, THAT argument has been used against us on behalf of 3 different ponies by 3 different fanbases. It ain't gonna work anymore. The Lyra fans are not a secret coalition of people who just hate Dash AND AJ AND Twilight. XD

Exactly. I actually like Dash more than I like Lyra, I voted against Lyra in that round.

 

Lyra's visual design is simply far superior to Twilight's.

 

I could use the same argument against twilight fans, saying that people are voting for her just because she's the main character.

you have to take every single parameter into account when voting for most attractive. its not just looks, its everything, the total package. the mind, the body, and the heart all come into play when choosing who you believe is the most appealing of the group. its never about voting for one pony just to see her opponent lose, thats both a waste of a vote and poor sportsmanship. we're better then that. 

 

this is friendly competition, and everything should be taken lightly, as alot of us are posting in a light hearted manner.

It's not really fair to say that, considering the competitors.

Give Lyra a few seasons in the spotlight, then we can fairly compare their character traits, until then, this is a 'most attractive' contest.

Since that will never happen, the personality for Lyra will be based on the fanon surrounding her. Personality still plays a part in attractiveness, and Background Pony serves a good basis for that.

 

Despite being a background pony, she has a unique cutie mark and my favorite one in the entire show.

What you are attracted to is not just looks alone. So while some have more visual appealing characters others have more appealing traits about then when you add them all up you get your personal most attractive. It's not titled "Best looking Pony" But that's just my thoughts

Well, we might as well call it quits then. At this point, both of the Mane Six have been dealt a losing hand, comparatively speaking. While Twilight and Fluttershy have to abide by canon rules, every single person can just "make up" the most attractive personality for Lyra and Octavia in their head. Longs story short: Twi and FS have to abide by two sets of rules (personality and looks), while Lyra and Octy only have to abide by one.

 

At that point, the obvious occurs - people are going to vote for the personality they (imaginatively) superimposed over that character.

There's no rules governing on what's attractive and what's not. Understand that. Anyone can come up with conclusions based on what they might know from a character anyways so the superimposition is a moot point at best.
