planning Warpony 40k: Friendship is war.

So I've never done an RP on this forum before and so I've decided to test my skills in this area.

Don't think anyone cares but I did try this ages ago and it didn't work so I'll explain it clearly here what my plans are.

 This RP is going to focus mostly on story telling and interaction with the world, like an old fashioned point and click. There are only going to be limited spots (6 at the moment) but It will require fleshed out characters, also due to the nature of this RP you can use characters you've already made but their back stories will need to be changed to fit in with the lore of the universe. As for the combat I'm thinking along the lines of a dice based D&D kinda thing with saving rolls etcetera.

So. The characters.

One small thing, you're limited to earth ponies and Unicorns, for reasons I'll later explain pegasi do not exist (en mass anyway) as for dragons etcetera they are taking the place of the xeno filth so yeah... can't play as them

Also, all space mare-enes (it's a pun) are female and the death-colt and colts of battle (an other pun) are all male. Thought I'd do some role reversal.

1. The Inquisitor: The wise leader, this character needs to be smart and charasmatic, can be unicorn or earth pony, any gender

2. The Grey Knight: The tank, strong and imposing, HAS to be a female Unicorn (All Grey Knights are psychic and in this RP magic=psychic.)

3. The Deathwatch scout: The assassin, nimble and cunning. Can be whatever.

4. The Colt of Battle Canon: Devout follower of Celestia. A healer and an inspiration. Has to be male.

5. The Commissar: Taken by Higurashi (Steeleye Sungazer)

6. Tech-Priest: Taken by Thunder Knight

AS you may have noticed there are no outright Space marines listed that's because the story doesn't focus on war per say it will take place in Equesterra (a pun once again) and will involve conspiracy theories and will require teamwork and careful character development to get a satisfying victory. generally there won't be any deaths (unless you REALLY try to get killed). I would really like this to go ahead so here's the character submission I would like.

NAME:

RACE:

GENDER:

WHICH ROLE THEY WILL TAKE:

APPEARANCE:

PERSONALITY:

BACK STORY:

Once I have enough interest in this I'll post my plans for levelling (yes there will be stats and skills based on which role you take and your race) and exactly how the looting and combat system will go.

One last thing.

Orks = Diamond Dogs

Eldar = Dragons

Dark Eldar = Evil Dragons (?)

Tau = Donkeys

Tyranids = Parasprites

Necrons = Changelings

Once we get stared I'll explain the Lore and how when the events of this RP take place.

Post your characters in the thread or link to one you already have

k tnks :3

You hath garnered my interest. My character will be coming, but I'm loaded down at the moment. Please wait...\

AKA, may I reserve a spot?

Yeah sure no problem, do you know which archetype you wish to use? Or have you not decided. It doesn't matter either way.

I would like to be a tech priest or an Inquisitor. I know what both of them are, and, if I play as an Inquistiator, I am making full use of my powers. I would be of the Ordos Hereticus (Witch Hunters) and have two skull-servitors, a bolt pistol, a laspistol, and a power sword. Plus the augumentics, plus all the other stuff.

Tech-Priest? I'm less familiar with them, but I can assume he is a Techmarine, only more in depth. He'd probably have a power sword, a boltgun, and a inferno pistol, with a big weapon of some sort.

Suprised at my knowledge of Warhammer 40K? :)

Hold on there partner, the load out for each class has already been decided, you can however acquire additional stuff as the story progresses. To answer your question, a Tech-priest is not a marine, they are however much more intelligent then a Tech-marine and generally have a lot more cool gadgets and gizmos.

Yeah... all the gadgets and gizmos *enters trance*

Anyways... I have an idea. How about you give each "class" a different set of options, like the game? Because having a set loadout that everypony starts with seems a bit boring to start. Like, for example, give them options!

Bolt Pistol, Laspistol OR Inferno Pistol, Power Sword OR Lightning Claws OR Power Fist. Just for an example. I can help you decide all of this if you want.

Yeah that sounds good, got to keep it lore friendly though. I mean I highly doubt a Tech-Priest could wield a Thunderhammer.

No, der.

Anyways... if nothing else, you need to post the basic loadout. Not everyone has access to the Codexs. (I only have three novels and the Codex: Orks.)

Yes something warhammer40k related! Give me some time and I'll think about my character. Very nice warhammer to MLP character comparisons too.

SO guys I've fleshed out most of the interface related stuff for the RP so here it is.

CHARACTER BUILDING:

Every character will have a beneficial trait and a hindering trait.

The Inquisitor:
"I am the law"- The inquisitor is an agent of the Ordo Hereticus, and as such has absolute authority and answers only to superior Inquisitors.
"Tainted"- Being the one responsible for tracking heretics and followers of Chaos, an inquisitor is an easy target for the powers of chaos to corrupt.

The Grey Knight:
"Know No Fear"- The grey knights are demon hunters, they have seen the horrors of chaos and punch them right in the face. A Grey knight does not scare easily, in fact not at all.
"Burden of the Psychic" A Grey Knight is a powerful psycer, however this means they are very sensitive to psychic attacks.

The Deathwatch Assassin:
"Shoot to kill"- The Deathwatch never miss their targets. Ever.
"I've seen some things man"- Though Deathwatch they may be, they are but stallions, the things they've seen can often lead to Post traumatic stress disorder and bouts of insanity.

The Canon:
"Pure"- A colt of battle is above the temptation of chaos.
"Blind"- This however makes them very ignorant.

The Commisar:

"Inspirational"- A Commisar could convince an Imperial Guard to do just about anything.
"Mere mortal"- A Commisar is rarely augmented so don't expect them to last against anything bigger then it.

The Tech-Priest:

"Well prepared"- Tech-Priest's can carry more and can equip more stuff.
"More machine then pony"- A Tech-Priest is susceptible to most EMP and magnets.

Stats are the basic physical propitious of your character. These can't be changed once they are set. How they work is thusly. There are 12 stats; Intelligence, Purity, Strength  Agility, Charisma, Honesty, Sight, Awareness, Endurance, Health, Luck, and Faith. Each has a pair that in co-exists with, for example Intelligence is coupled with Purity, if you put points into Intelligence your purity goes down. Each stat starts at five , you are given 5 extra points you may put into any stat but keep in mind that for every point you put into one stat the points of an other go down. The maximum is ten

(mark where on the scale where the balance between the two stats lie's)

Intelligence|++++++++++|Purity

    Strength|++++++++++|Agility

  Charisma|++++++++++|Honesty

         Sight|++++++++++|Awareness

Endurance|++++++++++|Health

          Luck|++++++++++|Faith

Additionally each class gets a +1 to two stats

Inquisitor: +1 Charisma +1 Intelligence

Grey Knight: +1 Strength +1 Health
Assassin: +1 Sight +1 Agility
Canon: +1 Purity +1 Faith
Commisar: +1 Health +1 Luck
Tech-Priest: +1 Intelligence +1 Awareness

There are 12 skills, I was thinking more but I want to keep it stream lined. real simple you get to select TWO skills initially to add ten too after that each level you get to add 5 more points to which ever skill you desire. Also each skill starts at ten and the max is 100

Small Guns: Anything that shoots and is held with one hand, determines how effective and accurate you are with them.

Big Guns: Two handed death machines, same as above.

Melee: Swords, hammers, fists etcetera, determines effectiveness as well as technique (cool finishers etcetera)

Programming: Computers are important in the future, determines how good you can hack and program things.

Speech: How good of a smooth talker you are.

Medicine: how well you can fix a broken leg while being shot at.

Piloting: Sometimes you just need to get inside a tank and blow Sh*t up. This skill determines how good at flying a carrier or space you are or how well you drive a tank, bike etcetera.

Psychic powers/Wisdom: Your ability to foresee things and read minds. Unicorns get psychic and earth ponies get wisdom.

Mechanics: Your ability to fix machines, build machines etcetera. Also gun maintenance.

Acrobatics: Dodging, jumping, blocking, martial arts etcetera. Your ability to move in fancy ways basically.

Explosives: Your knowledge of bombs, how big the boom is and how likely you are to blow your self up.

FIRE!: How good you can burn things.

That's all I can think of for now, I'll update if I think of anything else to add. Please tell me if there's something that should be changed.

You hath garnered my interest young squire, we shall smite the risen enemy with chainsword and bolter and make all who doth defile the name of our Lord Empress! (Celestia?) Praise to the Golden Throne!

Oh you definitely got me with this one. I call the Comissar.

Questions: 1. Do we need to supply a profile written on the site already? 2. Why did you match up Health and Endurance/ Sight and Awareness? Those are... pretty much the same in my thinking. (At least in any rpg I've played.) understandebly being stronger would make you slower, but being short sighted makes you more perceptive?... What?

Edits: Found my first answer. The second stands. Also, I will link my profile that is desired. Will Edit in details as neccesary.

Intelligence| + + + + + + + + + +| Purity

Strength | + + + + + + + + + | Agility

(Put 1 point into Agility)

Charisma | + + + + + + + + + +| Honesty

(+2 points)
Sight | + + + + + + + + + + | Awareness

Endurance | + + + + + + + + + + | Health
(+1 Health Commissar Bonus)
Luck | + + + + + + + + + + | Faith

(+2 Points to Faith +1 Luck Comissar Bonus)

Skills: Melee and Speech

(Sorry for repost, this is assuming that the MORE ticks you have the side towards the skill from the bold means that it is better. God, I would love one extra, like small guns, or Piloting.)

Sight is how well you can see. Awareness is your other senses (Due to your poor SIGHT see it makes sense)

Endurance is basically HP and pain threshold, your body has taken so much punishment it has made you near unkillable by conventionally means. But your susceptible to poison and disease, that's what health is, how resistant to disease and poison you are.

Hope that clears things up :)

Oh and the Commissar's stat bonus' are Luck and Health. Not Intelligence and Charisma, That would be the Inquisitor.

Okay guys so here is the "intro" text to the Warpony 40k universe.

It is the 41st Millennium. For more than a hundred centuries Princess Celestia has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Eques-terra. She is the Master of ponykind by the will of the gods, and master of a million worlds by the might of her inexhaustible armies. She is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology. She is the Carrion Lord of the Equestrium for whom a thousand unicorns are sacrificed every day, so that she may never truly die.

Yet even in her deathless state, Celestia continues her eternal vigilance. Mighty battlefleets cross the daemon-infested miasma of the warp, the only route between distant stars, their way lit by the Astroponican, the magical manifestation of the Princess's will. Vast armies give battle in her name on uncounted worlds. Greatest amongst his soldiers are the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Mare-ines, bio-engineered super-ponies. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Equestrian Guard and countless planetary defence forces, the ever vigilant Inquisition and the Tech priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from Dragons, Parasprites, Diamond Dogs - and worse.

To be a pony in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of friendship and magic, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

I love it. Great Intro. It might find itself indoctrined into a fan fiction in the near future,
