Nyx was supposted to be Nightmare Moon reborn, yet because the ritual made to summon her was interrupte things worked out differently. Twilight would find her, as a scared filly with no memories and no knowledge of who she is. The story Past Sins being Nyx's journey in figuring out who she is and if she must be the monster destiny says she is. Twilight is Nyx's adoptive mother.
