Let's say, hypothetically, I were to throw a Pinkie Pie style party? What things would I need? What flavored cake and cupcakes would you recommend? What music would you recommend? Pinkie Pie songs or songs Pinkie Pie would play at a party? If it's the latter, what songs would they be?

No, I probably will never do it. There aren't many bronies around here, and I'm not great with throwing parties. Besides, being unemployed and living in the middle of nowhere doesn't exactly help either.

Personally i think a song that captures the joyous spirit of Pinkie, i think this one below that @@Caleb Rosengard mentioned is a great song to sing at a Pinkie Pie party!

Lots of people think when they see Pinkamena: "Eek! A murderer!1 Runn furr yurr lievs!!1"

 

 

I wish that people would stop using the name "Pinkamena" to refer specifically to Pinkie Pie when her hair falls flat.  She is not a different character.  Pinkie's hair just goes flat when she is feeling down.  And Pinkamena Diane Pie is just her full name.  She doesn't have dissociative identity disorder.

If you had a mark on you that said what you should do for the rest of your life, and you feel like you aren't good at it, you would be depressed, too.

 

Speaking of depression, I wrote a Pinkie Pie fan fiction where Pinkie Pie helps someone with depression. I wish I could post it here after it's edited, but the beginning is dark. It has a happy ending, though.

Well in-short the whole Pinkamena/Pinkie Pie is just a way for the fans to discern from either Happy Pinkie or Sad Pinkie in short. She is very much the same character while her hair is flat, it is just the few times we have seen her in such a particular light it was her either sad/miserable or confused(MMC), thus the fandom instead of sayng "Sad Pinkie" just uses "Pinkamena" because that was her name before she became elated in Cutie Mark Chronicles and most likely started to call herself Pinkie Pie instead.

 

Im actually hoping to see 'flat haired Pinkie' or Pinkamena truly happy in a future episode, it would be a wonderful sight to see.

Tho i admit, it sort-of-kinf-of happened already if you count this scene on flat mane alone(however her tail still resembles it's usually puffyness).

Tho i admit, the above 3 photos resemble more of the 'sad' Pinkie from Pinkie Pride after everyone ran off with Cheese Jerkface Sandwich.

 

Also this scene in MMC could possibly count, but she still had not received her true cutie mark back, so i don't necessarily count that one. However, it still is ever so lovely.

Yeah, I too prefer to refer to flat-haired/sad Pinkie as Pinkamena. Just a way to differentiate the two very different sides of her unique personality

Actually, i'm curious what the difference is between Pinkie here and Pinkie in Party of One. Is it possible that her mane deflates by the degree of sadness? Or is it possible that she matured enough in Party of One that she's learned not to let it get that far? She's certainly handles herself differently after that episode.

Theirs a big difference actually, in Party of One she became sad basically because she truly believed her friends no longer were her friends or even wanted to be her friends(hence the bitterness), however in Pinkie Pie Pride she was still well aware her friends where still her friends, but the issue this time was just in-short: She was feeling overshadowed -- outdone so to say.

 

Clearly this tugged at her pride as a person who brings the joy, who enjoys bringing joy and knows that she can get it done, is use to getting it done, and it's somewhat shocking to her if she doesn't(this was touched with Cranky also when she said "What just happened" after failing to win his friendship within a few seconds). Sadly, due to the sheer shellshock of her friends seemingly enjoying Cheese Sandwiches presence as a party planner more than hers(out of the blue non the less), she began to question whether or not shes actually good at making others smile, hence the lament song.

 

However, she well knows at this point who she is, her pictures din't lie, thus after some lament she clearly bounced back, saying "They loved seeing me, the real Pinkie" as she's well aware being miserable isn't how you bring people smiles, which is what she wishes to do. 

 

However at the same time, she reinforced her pride by saying "I've got to get back out there, have to show them that i tried. For there's only one great party pony -- that is Pinkie Pie"

This is why she then went forth to 'up the ante' and challenge Cheese to a "Goof Off" -- she was going to prove she is the best party pony no matter what. However, that's where the message of Pride vs Friends comes in as during her "Goof Off" challenge, Rainbow Dash became more or less not so happy with her increasingly over the top antics, luckily Pinkie realized this and forfeited before she let her pride of being the "Best party pony" harm her friendship with Rainbow Dash -- which in the end, was far more important.
