Ahh Deutschland... oh how I love Germany. I got to spend a couple of years there thanks to the US Army travel tour program. (About 20 years ago)

Yep, back in '95 I went to on a business trip with my father to Frankfurt. After that we spent a full two weeks in Germany ... even visiting distant relatives in Phillipstein (I think I got that right). We also spent the next month in Rome, England, and Ireland. Best vacation ever, and as I said in another thread, he passed not long after.

 

That trip.

 

Ok, I need to find a few happy Rarity pics ASAP.

It's just her design that is absolutely flawless...

 

Her dark hair and her fair coat. Her sapphire eyes and butt diamonds. It just works so well... It makes her look beautiful without even trying.

The Wonderbolt uniforms were another feat of generosity that is often forgotten. Five costumes, painstakingly historical accurate, custom made just to help a friend pass a test.

 

The fabric, the research, her time... And then her work wasn't even really appreciated. Still, she did not hold any grudges...

 

Something Rarity never does, when was the last time she held a grudge for someone?

Yeah, some pieces just never get old, and regulary need to see the light of the day again, or they risk to be forgotten...

Damn. Where did my post go?

 

@Obsidian Sky, ok I can't find anything on Phillipstein at all. Nothing. I know it was like eastern / central part of the country. More like a community than a town. Woody parts definitely and had a Castle in the area. An actual Castle. And yes, the expected architecture that made me think of storybooks and what not were all over the place. I wanted the cars to go the hell away so I could enjoy it more. So much of a culture shock - in a good way.

 

The biggest thing I remember was this odd (don't get mad) little ... I don't even know how to explain it ... but like this stage outdoors that they put on plays. I went with my dad to see one at night that I have no idea what was going on, but it was fascinating.

 

 

You're probably rolling your eyes thinking, "Look at this guy, thinks my homeland is freaking cute and odd. Silly American."

 

If none of that sounds familiar then I probably got the wrong town/community.
