The Lion King follow very closely by Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin.  Bambi and Sleeping Beauty deserve special mentions as well!  There are some moments in The Lion King that are just so beautiful that I don't even know how to describe what I think about them

My by far favorite Disney movie is 'The Lion King'.

Such a good story, the music really brings it together. (I don't mean songs, I mean the background instrumentals that make the moments.) The story was really good in my opinion, but I've seen plots like it before, but I still thought it was well presented.

It had it's silliness, but I felt that it did have a good balance between that and it's actual, serious, climax.

EDIT: I also really like UP, it's not close to The Lion King. I just think it should be on the polls because it's a good Disney movie too.

My favorite disney movie is Tangled (which I am not seeing as an option in the polls). Yes, I know it's more of a "recent" disney movie and it's not a classic disney movie either. I really enjoyed it however. The characters, the music, the animation (and the CG stuff too) it's a decent film. Just pretty much everything.

I love a lot of the other disney movies though, don't get me wrong. I've been a fan of disney movies since I was very young. I grew up with them. I memorized the song that Sleeping Beauty sang and would sing that as I was falling asleep for a nap. Then once I dressed up as Bell from Beauty and the Beast for Halloween. So, yeah, disney has been part of my life. "It's all so magical" ~

Hard to choose just one because there are a lot of really good Disney films.

So I have a little list of my favorite Disney films:

Tron Legacy ( Amazing visuals and a soundtrack by Daft Punk )

Fox and the Hound ( the ending made me cry )

Toy Story ( love Tom Hanks! )

Dumbo ( One of my favorite movies as a kid )

The Lion King ( Amazing music by Hans Zimmer and an incredible story )

So there's my little list of my favorite Disney films :).

Most of my answers were the hunchback of Notre Dame. The soundtrack was great and it had what I think to be one of the darkest Disney villains ever made.

Toy story 1 and finding nemo are two other films that are really close to my heart.

I absolutely love The Lion King it had amazingly cute and lovable characters as well as a catchy soundtrack. However, Aladdin and Hercules deserve mention as well for their catchy tunes.

Honestly I am a fan of all disney movies except for maybe Fox and the Hound and Pinocchio

Well my favorite Disney movie right now would have to be Wreck It-Ralph. The story of Ralph wanting to be treated nicer is a good story and Vanellope is also a nice side-character. Their both just to wanting to be treated better.

I'm going to go with The Emperor's New Groove. It's funny, it's touching, it rejects most of the standard Disney tropes, the VA cast is PERFECT, and the whole thing is just so much fun to watch again and again.

Second place would go to The Great Mouse Detective.

From the 2D animated ones I will have to choose The Lion King. Has my favorite animation, songs and main character. I scream "Mufasa No!" every time.

And my favorite ones from Pixar have to be Wall-e and Toy Story 3 (I just can´t pick one as a favorite, even though I think Wall-E is better)

-Lion King

-Lion King 2

-Mulan

-Finding Nemo

-Oliver and Company

-Lady and the Tramp

There's more on my list but some of them are live action like Flubber and the Pirates series.

Beauty and the Beast, ever since I first saw it in the theater 20+ years ago.

It follows the fairy tale formula, but executes it flawlessly.  Great characters.  Great songs.  The story is well written.  The characters themselves evolve over the course of the movie.  The love between Belle and the Beast is probably the best written/developed love story in the entire Disney canon.  The atmosphere is perfect, balancing a tragic, gothic mood with the classic fairy tale feel.  The animation is *outstanding*.  I love the score.I love the use of stained glass windows to explain the backstory with the opening narration.

This is not just childhood nostalgia talking, this is a *great* film.

The Little Mermaid-

I love The Little Mermaid! I think it definitely had the best side characters! Flounder and Sabastien are so cute! The songs were

Awesome also! I loved the "Kiss The Girl" scene. It was so romantic and just plain adorable! Ursula and her eels are pretty creepy.

Tangled-

Tangled was amazing! I loved Rapunzel. One of the things I loved about it was Rapunzel didn't wait for Prince Charming.

There wasn't even A Prince Charming. I loved how original it is! I also love the amazing music! I'm crossing my fingers that this will come out on broadway.

Mulan (1998)
Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001)

The Incredibles (2004) *

* May not count, as those are Pixar movies, rather than Disney Animation.

Hello, old thread.

In production order, my top ten off the top of my head are:

Pinocchio

101 Dalmatians

The Jungle Book

Beauty and the Beast

Nightmare Before Christmas (IT COUNTS)

The Lion King

Hunchback of Notre Dame

Mulan

Tarzan

Gonna let Wreck-It Ralph and Frozen simmer in my head for a little, but I love those too.

I don't group Pixar with Disney, but my two favorite are Toy Story (very nearly my all time favorite movie, next to Aliens) and Up.
