Luurilka 324
Banning shows from a kid? So much for freedom of information... Personally, I've never had any shows banned from me, which I am glad for.

Moved to Elsewhere 11,322
Family guy, south park, and just adult swim in general. My mom was okay with me watching the Simpsons because they weren't as inappropriate as Family Guy, but I was banned from those shows when I was like 6 or 7, so I was allowed to watch kids cartoons. FirePuppy 516
For me, no shows were ever banned. Not only that, the US government has no legal power to ban any television show unless it contains really offensive stuff at the point where censorship always comes in. Besides, shows that don't appear at all on TV anymore are still legal to exhibit through old recordings.

DixonTheAdversary 1,626
I never really had any shows banned from me, at least that I can recall. I was pretty much free to watch anything, but I mainly stuck around Cartoon Network.

Ziltoid the Omniscient 286
Nah. My parents were super lenient. I was watching South Park, Ren and Stimpy, and Beavis and Butthead at 7 years old lol
Tacodidra 56,425
Shows with higher age ratings but that's about it. Pretty much anything animated was OK – my parents didn't allow me to watch South Park when I was seven, but they did let me watch season 2 just a few months later. And I was also allowed to watch Celebrity Deathmatch when I was six or seven.
CloudMistDragon 5,970
Got banned from watching Courage the Cowardly Dog for a while because of it having "Satanic messages" and I also got banned from Digimon for a while simply because of it mentioning evolution. Yup, the wonders of having overzealous Christian parents. You know what's even stupider though? No, it's not that they had no problem with me watching Billy and Mandy, something that had loads more stuff they could also perceive as "Satanic". It's that they never once had any problems with me watching Pokemon.
CandyCorn 426
Actually, yes. I wasn't allowed to watch shows with violence and crude humor. Mostly, shows like Ren & Stimpy and Rocko. I also couldn't even watch the Itchy & Scratchy shorts during some Simpsons episodes. I either had to cover my eyes or leave the room. Now, I don't watch these things as a choice. My parents don't care what I watch as of now because I'm much older and know better.
