She has finally become a Wonderbolt. The question is, what is she gonna do next?

So, what did you all think of today's episode? I thought it was pretty good. May I be honest here? The Wonderbolts were acting like jerks in the first half.

I enjoyed it well enough, there were a lot of problems, especially with the first and second parts, but was ultimately saved by a great ending. Also I don't think the WB were nearly as bad as people are making them out to be, apart from the teasing early in the episode they seem like swell ponies.

 

Also I'm hoping for fanart of Rainbow's impersonations. Rarity in particular

The episode could've been handled better, but that didn't stop it from giving us plenty more Dash moments.

 

 

I'm gonna say it: I think she makes a good egghead.

We all know Rainbow better than that. I'm very surprised Spitfire didn't kick her out, and even more surprised Rainbow didn't just throw in the towel.

You know who else knows Rainbow better than that?  Spitfire.  Spitfire's seen what Rainbow can do when she's at her best (and she often is), and Rainbow's accomplished things other members of the Wonderbolts haven't and probably won't.  Like, as was pointed out in the episode, saving Equestria numerous times.  Spitfire would have been a dope to kick out such a "talented flyer," and, while Rainbow has had her moments of self-doubt throughout the series, Rainbow isn't the type of pony to just up and quit when the going gets tough.  What that episode confirmed for me is just how tough - on both a physical and an emotional level - that Rainbow Dash really is.  I think we should be proud of her; I wish I were that tough.

I think my favorite mode for Impression Dash was "Reading Rainbow"; though it sounded more like "Rainboo" to me.  Take a look, it's in a book...

Though...  Was it an impression?  Rainbow didn't bother changing her mane style; which we've known she could do at will and on-the-fly since season five's Griffonstone episode where she imitated Twi.  She simply walked up wearing taped eyeglasses and holding a book. xD  Perhaps that's all you need, in this situation.

 

 

I finished the line art for "Dragon Babe," but I'm hesitant to post the full drawing to the RDFC. x )  I'll decide once the piece is complete.  For now, here's a look at what I'm doing with the shading this time around:

A friend of mine, who's gotten away from watching MLP:FIM and favors the first season, watched "Newbie Dash."  He liked the episode; called it "a return to form" for the series.

 

I've also discussed the episode at length with another friend, and I think that this episode (the one that happened to fall on a momentous point in the series) was something that had to be "gotten out of the way."  Not because I didn't enjoy it; I did.  Not because this wasn't something important to any long-time Dash fan; it was.  But because Rainbow is now poised to do great things in the Wonderbolts; the group she's wanted to join for so long.  I'm interested in seeing where things go now that she's finally a member.  I've always thought that she would be a credit to the group; a pony who would do them proud and make them better than they are (or thus far have been).
