My dad got me hooked on Rush when I was a kid, and it was the only band I listened to for a long time. They have so many great songs, and they're incredibly talented. I've seen them in concert 4 times now.
Le Kvlt Dawn 2,363
90's metal was the best. Burzum, Death, Sepultura, Obituary, Darkthrone, Electric Wizard and my personal favorite Carcass. Fuck yea!
decoherence 183
Hemispheres is my favorite Rush album actually. My dad got me hooked on Rush when I was a kid, and it was the only band I listened to for a long time. They have so many great songs, and they're incredibly talented. I've seen them in concert 4 times now. For the longest time I couldn't stand Rush -- Geddy's voice drove me nuts! Then I got over it (learned to like it, i guess) realized they're one of the best bands out there and I've loved them ever since. My alarm clock plays "Animate" to get me up in the morning. I think it's appropriate though I still occasionally freak out for a second when I hear Neil (i assume) counting the song in -- OMG WHO'S IN MY ROOM COUNTING!?!?
MelancholicMemory 2,022
I love music from the 70s and 90s too. Here's my favorite Pearl Jam song, and perhaps one of the saddest songs ever written. And from the 70s, here's some Aerosmith
Soundgarden 2,756
Wait a freaking minute, this is a thread about music from the 70's and the 90's and not a single person mentioned Hard Rock? What the hell? The best Hard Rock in history came frm the 70's! Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, that's the good stuff! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LjbMVXj0F8
Champion RD92 8,644
Another couple bands I listen to a little of from the 70's would be AC/DC and Queen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0NcFU838GY Other than Rush, AC/DC, and Queen, I don't listen to a whole lot of 70's stuff. the_jetfighter 94
I had a feeling that if you were to find this thread then you would post those bands But anyways still nice choices both are actually not too bad Anyways you know who Live are, they seem to be a band that you'd like LIVE!!! lightning crashes!! that song is so amazing! love it!!! im glad that other people have such a good taste of music, 90s and 70s rule! something about he 70s progressive rock i think is underrated sure the songs go on forever (and ever) but the quality of the music (especially the work with the bass guitar) is something that i really appreciate about this genre of music

Close to the Edge is yet another one of my all time favourites. These guys are considered more 'jazz fusion' than prog rock but nonetheless, here's another to add to this collection of fantastic music!
