Views on Shipping?

Nope, I really do not like shipping.

 

The shippers in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds ruined it for me when it seemed everyone made a fuss that Yusei and Aki never got together

What is your opinion on shipping (MLP shipping)? If you don't know what I mean, I mean relationship shipping? Do you like it? Do you hate it? If you do like it, what is your favourite kind of shipping? For a while I wasn't a fan of shipping, but I now have really started to like Octavia and Vinyl Scratch shipping. I'm not sure I am really interested in looking into any other shipping. If you still don't know what shipping is, look at some of the posts below or google it.

I do not seek it out but it does not stop me from reading a fanfic that has it -- I definitely prefer it to be reasonable. Some pairings just do not fit my headcannon very well.

I am a huge fan of shipping. I love it quite alot, because the pictures are so amazing, and some of the fanworks are just plain epic sauce.

Shipping images- yeah i don't have a problem with it and xSpitfire shipping is always awesome

 

Shipping Fan fic- are usually horrible and are only ever there for people to ship there OC's with a member of the main six and it always feel like that was the only point of the story.

I'm not a huge fan of shipping to be honest. I've read shipping fictions that completely butchered the job but there are others that break me down into tears at the story. One example of this is the fiction Yours Truly. It's a shipping fiction so I assumed I wouldn't like it but as I read I fell in love with the story and it is honestly now my favourite fiction. The writing is brilliant and beautiful. A shipping fiction no less. I'm not going to say who gets shipped in case people haven't read it yet and plan to.

Oh wait, you were referring to the internet slang term for couples and relationships weren't you?

 

I've found that a lot of people still don't know what that means so you should probably address any strange terms for any type of slang to anyone reading a topic post, it'll make anyone wanting to post and contribute to topic's much more smoothly for all.

 

Plus you should also address if your shipping standards here would only apply to couples in the show or anything of the impossible boundary lines such as seeing MLP and TF2 compiled; obviously impossible but just putting out an example for statement reasoning only.

I love how shippings are written, but it's almost like some of the authors put their soul into it. The romance is really heartpounding and the relationships are really dramatic. There was one that a particularly liked which shipped Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, it was really cute. I can't remember what the title was, but I truly love romantic stories.

I like shipping, but I only like heterosexual pairings, not that I have anything against homosexuals, it's just that I personally don't really care for shipping of the same sex, while at the same time I have nothing against homosexual pairings.

 

I like general lighthearted shipping fan fiction with little to no sexual themes.

I'm gonna admit something here, so sharpen your pitchforks and light your torches.... I am a Clopper! (I only like MLP FIM Ponies, and all those times I said I wasn't a clopper, I lied.) Yes, a sick freak that likes another sapient species. When I learned I was a Clopper for the first time, I felt like I wanted to kill myself (I cried for awhile) for the good of Humanity thinking I have become a monster. But then I thought it's a sapient just like an alien babe (just looking like a Pony) from Mass Effect, so it isn't really wrong. Those Ponies personalities got to me and turned me into a Clopper. Damn, you Ponies! Why did you have to turn me into a Clopper?!

 

I however only like one clopfic which is called: Xenophilia by AnonponyDASHIE. I don't really like any other except "Her Whole Darn Heart" by Crowley, any other I've seen I find no real emotion or feeling (so I stopped reading) with the characters and was too rushed, and most which I deemed too sick and wrong for my liking I didn't even click on those to even start reading them.

Shipping is great, I use first class shipping normally, it is usually next day air. I found that UPS is more reliable then FedEx, but if an item online offers free shipping in FedEx I would rather take the free shipping.

Honestly, I don't see why anybody cares if someone is a clopper. So long as they are not just going up to random people and sharing that with everybody they come in contact with, who cares. Everybody has their turn-ons. Besides, it's no like there isn't porn of nearly everything on the internet.

Eaactly, I had no clue what shipping was until after seeing the term so many times here on the forums I had to look it up. Prior to moving to this forum however I didnt know it.

 

Anyway...

 

I honestly dont like shipping of the mane six or any pony that is on the show. I also dissaprove of same gender pairings. (PLEASE do not hate me for that!) I do actually enjoy a good romance tale but only if it involves OC's or any made up characters.

It kinda depends on the shipping. Like I really don't care if it's the shipping like Lyra and Bon Bon, which can't be concluded untrue or not. When it has no chance of being canon I just don't care for it.

Friendshipping and not-over-the-top-shipping is fine by me. I ship AppleDash, more than TwiJack for some reason, even though Twi's my second favorite, and RD's my least... XD

Never really saw a point for it, I've seen some of the pictures. I even Googled it, and it's kind of strange to me. Just putting two characters in a intimate relationship position, not my thing.. Open to other peoples views though, show me the point.

Well, i personally like shipping for background ponies. It lets me see them as more developed characters, because in the show itself some of them have less than a minute of screen time. With shipping, you can see them put into situations and adds character to them.

Like deep background characters, or the ones that kind have been glorified? Such as Lyra and Bonbon, or the crowd of about 20 ponies that just show up in large crowd scenes? It's an interesting idea, but regular artwork doesn't work? Or is it just the fact there is more shipping than there is of just regular fanart? I've seen tons of images, the well known ones such as Vinyl behind her scratch table, or Lyra and Bonbon sitting on a park bench.

I will read fanfics occasionally but the only ships I like are pinkie/dash and rarity/applejack

I'm okay with shipping, as well as same-sex pairings in fan fiction. There are a lot that don't interest me much, but I kind of like Rainbow/Pinkie (check out "Sweet Nothings") and Applejack/Rarity.

I'm indifferent to shipping, I don't really like it though. Still...... I guess it's kinda alright. As long as it doesn't affect me in a negative way, why should I hate it.
