I always thought Fluttershy just made a new life on the surface after she fell from the clouds. I think it's probably an error.

Fluttershy would have a pegasus family, wouldn't she? It makes sense that she would return to the clouds until she became old enough to live on her own.

 

So, I don't see anything too contradictory about her having her cutie mark here.

I'm willing to chalk it up to animation error, personally, because it doesn't seem to mesh with what we were told from Cutie Mark Chronicles. Unless she really did return to Cloudsdale for a time before moving to Ponyville, something I consider highly unlikely, it's an error.

 

An error that I thought I was watching for and yet missed both times I saw the episode. Curses. I feel stupid for not having noticed it prior to seeing this thread.

It's natural to assume Fluttershy literally dropped out of Summer Flight Camp right before she got her cutie mark, but I haven't seen anything in any episode pinpointing when she moved to Ponyville.

 

She obviously did, at some point, move to Ponyville and take up residence in her cottage, but it is unlikely she simply never returned to Cloudsdale after the pegasus race. So this flashback could have referred to a time after Fluttershy and Rainbow got their cutie marks.

 

Still, a good catch and an interesting point to ponder.

I guess that this scene happened in the near immediate aftermath of Fluttershy's fall/Rainbow's rainboom, as in the next day or so. Fluttershy had to re-do her flight school lesson and Rainbow was there for support. Since the rainboom happened and the fall happened a day or so before, they both have their cutie marks.

I noticed watching Hurricane Fluttershy, that flash back FS had during flight school.

 

 

 

 

Notice anything? Look at their flanks, they have Cutie marks! I highly doubt FS ever came back to Cloudsdale as a filly with her cutie mark after she fell down to the ground, tell me, is that unusual they gave them their CMs in that flashback, or am I too observant?

 

They actually have quite a decent amount of animation errors...

It probably was just an animation error. Something that the animators just forgot at the moment... nothing to be too technical about. I mean, even the producers aren't perfect!

I agree with the people that are saying Fluttershy returned to the clouds after getting her cutie mark. She was just a filly when she fell, and besides that she most likely has a family in Cloudsdale she returned to. I doubt she could have started a new life right then and there.

So no, I don't think it's an animation error.

Sorry if this is already common knowledge but this is the first time I noticed it - Best Night Ever has a cyclops pony! I used the search function looking to see if cyclops pony had been mentioned before - he was briefly mentioned in a thread started by someone claiming that we were mean to Derpy, an OP so offensive to me I hope he has been banished to the moon. Anyway, I certainly was not going to comment there. I also did an internet search and found the cyclops pony. I was going to post my iPhone photo that I took of the pony but I think this shows him better:

 

 

If you watch the episode on YouTube, the error happens at around 1:36.

 

I like cyclops pony! I guess he is not mentioned much since he is such an obvious error. I would venture to guess he was going to face the audience but his eye stayed facing towards Rarity.

 

So is cyclops pony common knowledge? Am I just late in noticing him while re-watching Best Night Ever? What do you guys think of cyclops pony?
