It's spring break, which means it's time to wrap winter up. And thank Celestia, because the cold sucks.

This one was done in segments, over a very busy weekend. Corralfur delivered as usual, but this time around, I chimed in a bit as well to make those group vocals complete (they're not present in the ripped a cappella track).

Downloads are at the Pony.fm link above. Enjoy. :)

The entire thing, all in one weekend? :o

I think you lost a bit of the original's playfulness and sheer grandness (in the group sections - they were quite spectacular in the original) in the transition to your metal rendition; on the other hand, I don't believe full choir sections are exactly what metal is all about, anyway.

Still, as one of the songs that keeps finding its way back to the top of my Now Playing list, I always enjoy hearing different takes on Winter Wrap-Up.

One difference that made an impression on me is that the instrumental development over the course of the song appeared to be more pronounced in the original. Throughout the piece, a new instrument, voice, or sound effect waits around every corner. You preserved a few of the touches like Fluttershy's critter bell and tweeting birds, but it sounds like some of the subtler parts got the axe in favour of lead guitar playing almost every significant non-vocal and non-percussive part. You do make up with a good number of creative riffs, though.

I'll shamelessly admit that my understanding of the metal genre is extremely limited; these are just the observations I made while listening to your remix and the original side-by-side.

Hey dude I thought your cover was really good (and your cover of Smile Smile Smile is too). I'm not very fond of brony music but that was really good. BTW, I'm trying to be a brony musician myself and I'm having trouble with speed picking and tremolo picking. Do you have any tips for me?
