There once a princess called Luna

Who felt that the day came too soona

So when the sun rose

In place it was froze

And poor Luna was sent to the moona

 

 

or how about this one,

 

 

The sun was high, and over the land,

the ponies were at play,

they relished this time, the warmth and light,

of Celestia's golden day.

 

But all good things much reach their end,

and light began to fade,

and shadows reached out for the dusk,

and for home the ponies made.

 

When all was still, the land at peace,

hearths lit behind closed doors,

then Luna, the Princess of night,

would walk the fields and moors.

 

In solitude she kept her watch,

alone her time she passed,

guarding them all in their slumber,

Until morning came at last.

 

Each break of day, each crack of dawn,

left shadows on her heart,

the bitterness inside her grew,

and ripped her soul apart.

 

Finally it grew too much,

with fury she was torn,

the burden that was hers alone,

no longer could be borne.

 

And so came the fateful day,

as the sun began to rise,

the moon stood firm, and would not yield,

to Celestia's surprise.

 

"What is wrong my sister dear?"

Came a voice from out the gloom,

but it was not Luna standing there,

But the wicked Nightmare Moon.

 

"For too long now, you've had your way,

You thought you were so clever,

but if they cannot love us both,

then the night will last forever!"

 

Celestia, she was distraught,

at this turning of the tide,

she had not seen the suffering,

that her sister kept inside.

 

But too late now, she had no choice,

her sister she must fight,

and push away the darkness,

to make way for the light.

 

They fought on land and in the sky,

alighting on the palace roof,

and falling through, Celestia saw,

the elements, close to hoof.

 

Without delay she took her chance,

Their power she called upon,

and in a blinding flash of light,

Nightmare Moon was gone.

 

Celestia she shed a tear,

as she looked at the moon in the sky,

to see poor Luna imprisoned there,

she whispered her last goodbye.

 

A thousand summers came and went,

before Luna was returned,

and when the sisters reunited,

her forgiveness had been earned.

 

The sun was high, and over the land,

the ponies were at play,

they relished this time, the warmth and light,

of Celestia's golden day.

 

But all good things much reach their end,

and light began to fade,

and shadows reached out for the dusk,

and for home the ponies made.

 

When all was still, the land at peace,

the ponies all asleep,

then Luna, the Princess of night,

would walk their dreams,

and in the darkness, safe, them keep.
