gaming Cardfight! Vanguard

I've been wondering if anypony else is a fan.

To those unfamiliar, it's an anime TCG with various creatures. The gameplay isn't at all complicated nor unbalanced...it is extremely user-friendly.

I enjoy playing it and am fairly good at it if I do say so myself.  I currently have three decks that I use.  I have a straight Kagero, a straight Pale Moon, and a straight Dark Irregulars.  What do you got?

Vanguard is fun and balanced for the most part. My only complaint is the DOTE decks, herp-a-derps. I run Dragonic Lawkeeper, Bermuda Triangle, and Neo Nectars and I enjoy them.

Pretty nice deck's y'all got there, I myself run various decks:
Kagero (Have to turn it into DOTE due to local demand)
Dark Irregulars (Reijy)
Granblue (Cocytus Toolbox)
Gold Paladin (Adjusted Trial deck)
Angel Feather (Egodriel Ride Chain)
Shadow Paladin (Ildona Card Cycler)
And now, I'm going to build a Spike Brothers deck...

I myself don't really like Spike brothers.  They are not that good and their vanguards leave a lot to be desired.  Like all the other ones though.  Gold Paladin is what people have to watch out for.  That is a powerful clan.

Actually, with my current experience, I can assure you that all the Clans are balanced. They each have their respective Pros and Cons. SB's have an excellent harassing capabilities; they have a build that can win in less than 5 turns, as well as a build that can attack 5 times--at Full strength each. Their weakness is that they deple their hand cards, and thus their Guarding capabilities, very quickly. Gold Paladins aren't that strong, I guess you say that due to their repetitive placement in Tourney finals? Well, thats because of their popularity. Think about it! If there are 9 out of 10 players in a Tourney play Gold Pallies, what are the chances that that one guy who uses a diff clan wins? 10%...pretty slim, eh? I guess what I'm trying to say is: there is no superior Clan. Only popular clans.

Spike Brothers are supposed to get real good in a few sets. Set 10 I believe it is, check out the spike brothers in there. Makes Maiden of Trailing Roses's effect look like dookie. They are also getting a sentinal I believe.

I'll have to check it out.  Thanks for the info.  I personally am a Kagero at heart.  The explosive plays and the raw power as the wind flies past my scales.  Being with dragons is where I belong.

I like Kagero though I am getting rid of my DOTE deck for personal reasons of me not liking it, I prefer Lawakeeper but that is just me. I am trying to make the transition into Bermuda Triangle just for mermaid chests and don't need to throw down a bunch like a certain deck I know *cough* OTT *cough*

I run a Overlord/Goku, half & half deck.  It is really powerful.  See i'm a straight Kagero gameplay kinda guy and I have to say straight out that Lawkeeper is a coward's card.  His ability is to get rid of opponents rear guards and then attack them when they have no defense.  A true Kagero plays an opponent head on and doesn't use dirty tricks like that.

It really depends how you use Lawkeeper, in most cases you only want to use his effect when they are at 4 or more damage and want to go all in for a final attack for game, other wise you are in for a world of pain when those rear guards come back because guarding three attacks in that late of the game takes out so much of your hand. Yes, Lawkeeper's effect does sound cowardly BUT really it's only useful for a final kill card.  DOTE is more broke considering your opponent must chose and decide if you got them extra DOTEs in hand, otherwise free attack and hand advantage all day. As you attack with DOTE, use effect after drive checking two, stand up, rinse repeat until out of DOTEs for discarding.

If you want a true cowardly card, just take a look at Silent Tom

That's true.  I tried him once and I just don't like using him though.  That's just my opinion.  I guess everyone has their way of playing.  I mean I have a good deck already.  Why fix something that's not broken?  Anyways I have a question for you Brolaire.  Do you play any other card games besides Vanguard?  I play Magic The Gathering(2), Duel Masters(1), Yu-Gi-Oh(4), Digimon(5), Neopets(7), Pokemon(6), Vanguard(3), and Yu-Yu Hakasho Ghost Files(8).  The numbers mean the order I like them with 1 being my favorite.  Below I have pictures of the most powerful card I own for each game.

I love this game, but I don't have anyone else around here who plays it. I'm hoping the 3DS game gets released in the US so I can play some other people.

I haven't been able to stop myself from building a few decks, though. So I have:

  • Goku Kagero (no plans to switch over to DOTE at the moment)
  • Tachikaze (eagerly awaiting BT08 for Destruction Dragon, Dark Rex)
  • Garmore Royal Paladin
  • Gold Paladin (budget build that focuses on Sleygal Double Edge)

And I'm gathering the cards I need to build Cocytus Granblue.

I also play Yugioh but that's about it, My friends are trying to get me into Pokemon but I just can't get back into it for some reason.

My locals have said yes to our weird idea to make that MLP CCG into an actual playable game and a league for it...we just need to get the ponies done before set 2 comes out lol

I don't play, but I've seen quite a few people playing while I'm at the local card shop for Magic. How would you say it compares?

Although, card games are expensive, and I don't really want to get into another one :/

That's cool.  Hey if I ever can get it published into an official card game, I have already designed a MLP Card Fight game.  It's called Equestrian Legends.  But I don't know how to get it published or who to go to.  Any suggestions?

It's a whole new card game but it will only cost you an asston of money if you build Oricle Think Tank. The most expensive card is around 40 I believe(nobody wants the super expensive 100 dollar version lol) Most decks you can build under 100$ depending what you want to build and for a card game, especially coming from someone like me that plays Yugioh, that is pretty damn cheap.

Eeeeh I wouldn't exactly know tbh, that you would have to do on your own.

I haven't played Magic, so I can't offer a comparison, but Vanguard is a pretty cheap game. My Tachikaze deck only set me back around $45. Ask some of the guys you see playing it at your locals, they'll give you a better introduction to the game in person than I possibly could over the internet.

Also, I just have to post this:

Twilight playing Tsukuyomi is spot on, but Fluttershy would definitely play Great Nature.

I also play the Vanguard card game and it's a lot of fun. As someone who has played quite a few card games I've gotta say that I believe Vanguard is my favourite. Currently at least.

The decks I run are
- Granblue (Basskirk)
- Spikebrothers (Recently changed over from Siegfried to Dudley emperor)

- Megacolony (Giraffa)
- Dimension Police (Planning to try out Rain)

- Tachikaze

Sweet picture btw.
