I like the Half Life insect on your avatar, I had such great fun with both that game and Opposing Force XD

it's called a Snark. why, i dunno.

i found that, as a weapon, the Snarks are really useless in most cases and i never really used them at all.

don't be so sure, they're super effective against headcrabs; however, I'll never forget that moment in Opposing Force; ok, so I'm in this room, high above ground level, right? I see an air vent and I quickly jump into it; it was my first time playing, so little did I know that there were not one, but three Snark nests in there that broke as soon as I entered the air vent; I didn't even see them clearly, I just heard the noise and got the hell out of there as soon as I could, but it was already too late; I shot them with everything I could, but Snarks would continuously come out of that air vent; I slammed the laptop shut immediately, body shaking and everything, that moment left me scarred for life XD

i started playing through Opposing Force a bit yesterday. gameplay-wise it's definitely a lot better than Half-Life due to more alien slaughter and less super-annoying military AI buttfucking you everywhere. though i kind of wonder what so many people find so interesting about Adrian Shephard (the main character), and, to an extent, Gordon Freeman (seriously Gordon Freeman what's so special about him, really?)

don't concern yourself about the characters you play as, become them XD that way, you can really feel like you're there, fighting the enemies yourself and firing weapons, instead of just pressing buttons; speaking of which, where are you in Opposing Force? how far are you into the game?

i think that's more the protagonists roles in the games. that's why they are protagonists in a GAME and not a movie, which would be practically useless for a character such as Gordon Freeman, because he doesn't say a word in any of the games.

 

i've gotten in contact with part of the first squad-team after G-Man hinders you from getting into the chopper and getting away from the very infested Black Mesa.

well, at least no military enemies. they're incredibly annoying in the original game and no fun to fight at all.

i actually have Blue Shift on disc, since i bought a pack which contained the Half Life game plus all expansions and CS. i haven't played that much of it, though. i recall i found it boring.

it's pretty great in its entirety, but it requires more puzzle solving and not as much enemy killing as the other two games; plus it's the shortest of the bunch; but it's really fun nonetheless XD

sorry for so late of a reply, just got busy with... stuff. y'know, timey wimey wibbly wobbly stuff...

 

it's slow because no real action is going on right now, and the guy who was to rp chrysalis and death has dropped out, i think.
