Although it was already late out at night, and although both ponies could use the sleep despite already being insomniacs, Ganaram and Jade still continued walking out in the streets. Never minding the fact that their other friends have already returned home or have already fallen asleep by now, there was something about the two ponies that compelled them to stay awake.

 

Ganaram, in particular, pretended to be all alone, despite having Jade beside him. He felt as though as there was something that needed to be said, though he wasn’t able to express it, and despite pretending to ignore his friend’s presence, just being near him was making him feel awkward; His face was flush with red and his wings were twitching.

 

It was hard for Ganaram to tell what was with Jade, but either he didn’t care, as evidenced by the fact that his head was turned the other way, or...

 

Ganaram shook the thought out of his head. There was no way that he... Or was there...?

 

And then Jade asks Ganaram whether or not he should ask Electrobolt out, and then Ganaram is sad.

It was like old times, except that now, Ganaram had an actual NAM uniform, the ultimate symbol of his occupation.

Jade didn’t seem to want to look at the others, as he was too busy looking at the ground, and Electrobolt probably had too much caffeine, as evidenced by his occasional twitching, though it may be because he might have to pee awfully bad.

Jade spoke out. It was completely unexpected for Ganaram. He suddenly stopped in his tracks, nearly losing balance for a second. Does he really have the same awkward-feeling thoughts that Ganaram has? If so, could it be... Love? Ganaram responded to Jade:

“Yes...?”

Ganaram felt his heart racing, as though it would burst out of his chest and take off like a jet engine. It felt like time was slowing down for him, just enough for him to simulate what Jade was going to say within his head, so as to prep himself outside his head. He felt ready...

“Do you think Electrobolt would want to go out with me?”

Ganaram was shocked.

Electrobolt spoke out:

“Wha...?”
