Gatekeeper Giggle 2,902 December 7, 2015 Share December 7, 2015 Technically, yes, but at best, you'll be seeing a shadow of a shadow of a shadow of a shadow. I've always wanted to go up a dimension and see a real fourth dimensional object with my own eyes... NO dafuq Yep. Those exist, Doxy!

Ganaram Inukshuk 3,679 December 7, 2015 Share December 7, 2015 (edited) I've always wanted to go up a dimension and see a real fourth dimensional object with my own eyes... *Brainsplode* Then you'll probably love Flatland. There's several different renditions of the original book, but it basically goes like this: The citizens of Flatland start off as triangles, and with each progressive generation, they gain one more side (triangle to square to pentagon and so on) until they have so many sides that they're indistinguishable from circles and they're then considered priests. Women are line segments. A 3-dimensional entity, a sphere, enters Flatland and is recognised as a priest. The weird thing about this particular priest is that he can change his size, but in reality, it's just a different cross-section of himself as he goes up and down the plane of Flatland; he's actually not changing size at all, just his cross section that can be visible at any one time. He then flicks out one of Flatland's residents (a square) and the square realises euphoria and enlightenment. Or nausea, since he could probably see the insides of everything and everyone. Here's one rendition where they cross out the "women is line segments" part, and a lot of the political hub-bub. What I like about this rendition is how all words that have reference to three-dimensional objects are rendered down to two dimensions, and that actual 3D terms are banned from use. Then we probably need to remake the movie in 3 dimensions, then, with 3D glasses, even though at best, we'd be seeing shadows of the actual 4D entities. I see... Maybe if we close our eyes really right, and believe in ourselves and in the magic of friendship, just maybe we can ascend to a higher dimension. Can our eyes even correctly see objects of dimensions higher then three? Am I seeing 4 dimensional objects right now, only my eyes are registering them as 3 dimensional? Not gonna lie, got kinda lucky. But still, not the best. You're just modest.
Ganaram Inukshuk 3,679 December 7, 2015 Share December 7, 2015 (edited) @, and if you thought Euclidean geometry was a bore, wait until you see this... This would give Euclid a seizure if he saw this. Imagine a world where, given a line and a point not on that line, there's infinitely many unique lines parallel to the given line. They just seem a bit too flat and thin to me. Man, I wish I could just do a montage and become amazing at drawing.

I didn't even draw the hair, tail, cutie mark, and other things that are needed for ponies. Plus, why would you put that on your wall? You don't even know who that pony is supposed to be.
