Would that be easier or harder to do, do you think?

I mean, Mother's Day is basically a birthday, right?

Yes, and no, depending on the date. And I designated Gem's birthday to be 01 April. I think.

And if Subreddit Simulator is of any indication, a Drunk Turing Test would be easier to pass.

So I attempted making an interchange, and by golly it didn't work at all.

I thought a drunk test would be easier, most chatterbots sound like drunk people anyways.

What kind of interchange, dare I ask?

And if it's a Florida Man news headline, it's immediately believable.

A custom one, I don't even know what to call it... a mistake.

Luckily, in the process I figured out where most traffic wants to go and made a separate route to get there, so all is well now... well enough anyways,

Why is it always a Florida Man? Is Florida that bad?

From what little I know, I'm under the impression that every state has its share of weird news stories; it's that Florida laws are different which allow for a far higher incidence of weird news stories that end up getting published. I don't know the specifics, though.

Ah yes, the "make a separate route" trick.

Also, I could probably identify what kind of interchange it is; I spent my late teenage years obsessing over them.

Well, first off it has 5 streets to connect, so I tried to make a system that connects each street.

It was messy.

Also, they decided not to take the route most of the time, so cool.

Wait, so it was a 5-way intersection? Oh man, those are evil. (Well, manageable if the streets are small enough and you don't mind waiting times, but if the roads are any bigger or one particular road has all the traffic, you need a bypass.)

Evil is right, it is evil incarnate, and nobody wants to take other routes.

A city of masochists and bird-lovers is what they are, but they still hate trash.

Also, it's 5am, Cities: Skylines has already destroyed my sleep schedule, nice.

Can you imagine involuntarily or voluntarily replacing your personality for a different one and either realising you forgot who you are or completely forgetting who you are and do whatever you can to get it back but can't or just accepting you're never gonna get it back and never bother searching?

Also, should I tell you about the time my Markov text generator sang about climbing every ocean and swimming every mountain?

Functioning city number three: Traffic works better than previous cities any nobody is swimming in garbage.

Powered completely off of wind power and garbage incineration plants.

So far it is completely low density, but I'm not sure if I should upgrade to high density (lot of work) or leave it and make another district specifically for high density (lot of money).

Also it has no name yet.

Give it a tautological name, like how I once saw someone suggest "Playa Beach" for a beach name (it translated to "Beach Beach").

Yeah, I know what beach in Spanish is.

Ciudad City then?

I guess...?

Or pick another language and use its equivalent words for city.

Most cities are named after early founders I believe, so it makes me wonder what's appropriate.

Here's a picture of my city btw:

And yes, the districts aren't custom named either.

Ah yes, you did the one thing that 4-year-old me always thought happened to freeways when you drive on them far enough: they loop back on themselves.

Unless you use your own names, the name generator in the game is a bit lacking, but how much additional overhead would you be adding to the game if you want the name generator to be more creative? This is part of the reason why I'm so obsessed with text generation right now and why I think a Markov generator would be acceptable for such an application: easier to write and deploy and the input files only have to be a few tens of kilobytes.

Well, the freeway doesn't hook up to the highway on the opposite side yet, so yeah.

I'm not too concerned about the name generation honestly.

Update on the city, created a new high density area to the east and connected the highways.

Spoiler

Also in the process of figuring out how to connect the freeway to the city more effectively.

Have you ever seen or heard of that 20 lane freeway that's in Canada?

Lots of places use some variant of that 4 carriageway setup, not just Canada.

I don't know if it's a good idea to keep restarting on my cities whenever I feel like my cities are unattractive and/or un-optimized.

On one hand it allows me to freely make improvements to my past mistakes, but on the other it's not actually fixing mistakes, but going around them.
